The engine is c++. We also have a browser export, that might be what you were being told. 

Great point, for the moment I'd recommend joining our Discord server for interactive communication. Tutorials are being posted there as well. 

We now have a dedicated discussion board!
Discord will still be our preferred method of communication, but we also know some countries ban access.
