In the Ghostpedia, the evidences for Countlanak and Kupper have overlapping texts in the latest update.
The rope only works on certain ghosts i think, depending on the ghost's weakness you'll need to use a specific item/ weapon to subdue them, After that you just have to press X while standing near the ghost to hunt it
