Haha yeah just improved the tutorial in the beginning of the game, nothing fancy :)

Looks great! Good job so far man!!!

I made this from scratch using C as my programming language and SDL2 for graphics, audio, etc. The full source code for the game I made public upon release if you want to check it out https://github.com/0xSPIRIT/sculpture

I use Windows as my OS. I really appreciate the simplicity of C and how you have to structure everything yourself from the ground up essentially

Hell yeah you’re doing great for your age

All that sounds great, all the best with that :) Just shot you a follow, and good luck with your game dev in the future, you’ll do great!!!

BTW, if you want my two cents, (not saying that you hold these views now, but) try not to focus too much on getting your views/downloads up and just focus on getting more experience from doing many things. Your view of your game’s success shouldn’t be bogged down by if you thought it should’ve become a hit or whatever (which is what I thought when I started out). Try to be happy with making the game in the first place and your own sense of pride/accomplishment with what you’ve done :)

But anyways, I’m still learning as well

Ah, don’t worry about it then! You’ll be fine :) Don’t worry about getting things to look great when you’re just starting out. It’s an accomplishment that you even finished something in the first place, making you better than most ;)

Nope, it looks great !! Good job on your game dude :) Is this your first game? If you don’t mind answering, how old are you?

Also, merry christmas!!!!

In your itch page you have the background which has a certain size for each pixel, then in the foreground of the page you have a different pixel size which makes it look a bit amateurish.

Also in your background it has bilinear filtering because it’s pixel art being scaled up, but you can just upload a high-res image of the background with nearest neighbor filtering applied instead.

But good job, the game looks good :)

It looks good, but the images’ pixel size could be more aligned and the color scheme can be a bit more refined to make it look more professional

Like I said, it’s a relatively short game but thanks

I just released my second game, Alaska! It’s a short, cozy game where you make sculptures. Playable on the web.

Play Alaska

You can press R to restart. Sorry about that.

Holy crap this is amazing, my favorite submission in this jam

Good freaking job

You had me at the bossa nova track

Thanks!

very atmospheric, very nice

This bops

Really nice, the main theme for WINTER sounds like the Paper’s Please intro.

Yeah the delay is a bit of an acquired taste, I really like how it sounds. Thanks though, I’m glad you liked it!

Thanks so much, it means alot!! :)

Lol thanks

Oudda da damn way

Excellent orchestral pieces

Wow thanks, it truly means a lot. This comment just made my day :)

I didn’t market the game or anything and released the game silently on itch because I didn’t really want to, and all that stuff seems boring. So it only has about 24 downloads.

Maybe I should make a video trailer… that might get more people to play it.

Edit: I have now created a trailer.

Oops, fixed!

You seek THE MAVIEN, an ancient orb, sought by many. Few have ever acquired it. Uncover a personal journey of arrogance, ambiguity, and failure.

Play it for free here (Windows Only): https://spirit-wolf.itch.io/mavien

Pretty cool, good job.

Wow that was a really good game!

Please look at the game page, please. It has all the instructions and stuff.

I'm just polishing my game(and making music). I'm not going to submit it yet, but instead i'll wait until the last day!

This is my first game jam so:

IM PUMPED.

I think I MAYBE have been using toooo much of my time on story..

I have about 11 levels and 2 rooms (in game maker) about story, but those two rooms took waaaayyy longer to make than the 11.

now I have to make a FEW more rooms pertaining to story.
