Description
Genre: electronic / synth
Phantoms of Spirit is a journey-esque experience in terms of the feel of the game. There are four season-based areas, and a final "void" area. Most areas lead to a boss fight (which is why the music picks up in most of the tracks).
I composed each track using FL Studio using SNES soundfonts and Serum (a digital synth) with bitcrushers heavily used, to give the album a distinct style.

Theme:

Story of Seasons
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
It fits the theme by having tracks for each season, and the final void area. Almost all areas have boss fights, which is why the tracks can become fast paced.

Loved Perilous, Yet Necessary. Might I interest you in Phrygian Dominant? It's the scale that I call "Necessary Evil".

Also liked the first Movement of Cracked and Wavering because of its harmony, but it sat on the same rhythms and stuff for a bit long.

Really amazing! My favorite piece was without a doubt Cracked and Wavering, really beautiful and interesting, I could see the soundtrack forming part of a game. Well done!

It's really emotional and I can definitely hear this as part of a game. Loved the echoing instruments in particular, well done!

Thanks alot, this is possibly the heartwarming compliment I’ve ever received :) Your submission was really good as well, I rated it earlier today

Oh yeah, Summer is luscious. At 0:53, when the music sort of drops far into the background, what a delightful effect. It just keeps going through these awesome changes and adding little phrases and synths here and there that are just a real buffet of tasty sound.

I especially enjoy the more energetic boss fight bits. Also have to love the notion that "Void" is the fifth season - void fans unite!

A lot of the piano instrumentation reminded me of zelda - overall pretty neat textures and vibes.

the boss battle part in Voided Emptiness is a bop. you nailed the style, especially in later tracks.  I'd play this game 100%

Developer

Thanks!

Strong first impression. The syncopation of the delays was making it a little difficult to "get in the groove", but i LOVED how it sounds and the instrumentation.

Developer

Yeah the delay is a bit of an acquired taste, I really like how it sounds. Thanks though, I’m glad you liked it!

I love how you've combined a bunch of different sounds and styles to get something unique that sounds both retro and modern. Perilous, Yet Necessary is my favorite

Developer
