I adore playing this game, simple but fun to master! Great work!

That's alright! Many jam submissions don't get finished. I was just critiquing it at face value. I think you guys did a well job at making an interesting concept. May your future works flourish

I finally got above 500! (got 520)
genuinely a very fun game, it's simple but I think that's what makes it so great! Some parts were hard to deal with like how enemies coming from the top of the screen had their elements covered by the player sprite once they got close enough, but honestly, that just became an incentive to target them first. The art is also really satisfying and cute. Excellent job!!

The music and art for this game really great. However, I struggled to find out what the object was outside of killing the three guards on the first screen. I mashed the interact button on everything I could and that didn't bring up anything and the recipe book button didn't bring up anything either. I wish I got more time to try out the core mechanics

I finished at 8:11!
The aesthetics of the game are nice and I like the sound effects. I also enjoy the revolver-style attacks where every time you use an attack it cycles to the next one, very cool! The collisions and hitboxes felt a little too precise though, it often felt frustrating trying to kill a rat that was knocking me around because I couldn't hit the thing. Jumping between platformers in some areas felt so precise that it would feel unfair, some coyote time and bigger collision boxes would be appreciated. Also, the character's movement feels a bit moon-walk, he feels heavy to control. Overall it was a fun experience and I appreciate the story setup!

The movement feels really good in this game and the spells feel satisfying to use. I didn't get a chance to explore the full spell list but the ones I did choose to try out were a blast. The graphics look very cute too!

Thank you for your feedback! I’m glad you had fun. I’m not entirely sure if i hit that sweet spot with difficulty or not, so I’m actually glad to hear some thoughts on how beatable it was
Thank you for playing !

The visuals of this were very creative. Hopping from page to page was incredibly interesting to look at.
I noticed that you're still affected by gravity during coyote time, and in some cases, this makes it almost like a double jump, where I could fall off a platform and then jump in midair when I land. Though it's not noticeable in practice, I only found it out because I intentionally tried to test the coyote time.
Despite it not taking long to finish the game, it felt like it was a lot more content-dense than it was! It was always engaging in some way
lastly, the collision boxes for spikes, platforms, and the player felt a little bit too misshapen for tight squeezes to feel comfortable; It felt like the player was too big in comparison to the others which made it feel unsatisfying trying to land on the smallest sized platforms
This feels like a very inspired game overall. The writing was good and it was satisfying to finish. You got a lot done in a short time, great job!
