Oh, they are made in Koikatsu? Interesting. I feel like your characters look quite different from ones in other games using it. Speaking of which, I loved all the shots fired at... how did you refer to it? Harems of love, was it? That was great. Anyway, I'm excited for the game's future. Cheers!

Hello, Story Anon(and co.)! First and foremost: brilliant game! I love it and it's definitely one of the best AVNs out there! The first time I played Out of touch was around chapter 32(I think) being the latest update. It's kind of funny, I've been playing it for a while and started thinking "Is this an adult visual novel? There hasn't been anything sexual so far... I mean, I don't mind, the story's good, so I'll keep playing... But I'm sure I was looking at adult games, did I fuck up somehow?". I even came here to Itch and looked at screenshots, but back then there actually weren't any that would show explicit scenes. It kind of makes me sad that you've updated the page, because it was funnier for me with the old look. Though people being confused about that topic is probably not good for business. Anyway, have you added some stuff that wasn't there initially? I don't remember that whole fighting scene with Cro'Dhearg in the beginning, as well as the four goddesses appearing on screen(by the way, I've noticed that only Hebe's eyes weren't glowing, is it because we haven't done her arc yet? If so - nice! I love little details like that). In some of the very first scenes of the game there were a few instances where goddesses' shadows would be shown alongside their shards - this is a bit more obscure, but I don't think that was there when I played Out of touch the first time. I was also surprised to find that the game is made in Unity, was it always like that? And speaking of software, where do you make character models, if you don't mind me asking? They are not from Koikatsu, right? While we're on the subject, there's one tiny problem that I think deserves mentioning: when you load a save, you can't roll back and history doesn't show preceding text either. It's a minor thing, but it would be helpful if the problem wasn't present. In case it wouldn't take too much time to rectify this inconvenience, I'd say it's worth looking into.
I was going to ask if the game ends with Hebe's arc, but since apparently there are 100 chapters planned, clearly that's not the case. Very interesting. I'm not a big fun of the current plot development with CJ being a "breeder", 160+ ejaculations with Sarah, the whole 25 times a day thing and all that. Seems a bit over the line, but I guess I'll see how it goes from there. I love the story in general, tough. Great writing. I like that main cast's parents are also quite involved in the story, that adds a lot to the game. I want to thank you for having the main character's name unchangeable. I really wish more AVNs would do that. Names are important and it is the writer who should decide what the characters are called. Seriously, thank you! I wish a certain "paint drawing" would be... Replaced... But based on how much it is discussed in the game, I doubt that's going happen. It's fine, I'll survive. Had to mention it though.
Honestly, not sure what else to say and this comment is long enough already. I love all aspects of the game; characters, music, scenes, etc. - everything is great! Keep up the fantastic work!
I'll be in touch.
An underrated game. Love the story. I also appreciate the fact that we have to gain affection with a couple of male characters. Outfit variety is good too. Thumbs up for the little reference you made to a certain other game(I believe it was in Midori's story). Keep up the great work!
Some advice for the Itch page, if you are interested. I would suggest updating things a little: less screenshots(current amount is a bit ridiculous), I personally prefer when they don't go below development log/comment box; fill up the empty space in the description with a bit more information(turning your links into images could also help), you could even put a couple of screenshots there; something for the sides, so it's not just purple background.
P.S.
I don't know if it was the developer or some fans who made it, but good job with the wiki!
Cheers!
Also...
SPOILERS AHEAD:
I love that you added a wolpertinger. I saw one(well, it was a taxidermy model) in the TV show Dexter and thought that it was really cool and cute-looking. Later I learned that it comes from an actual mythology and well, it's my favourite fictional animal. So, additional points for that.
What a great game! I personally need more normal visual novels like this, with all the sandbox AVNs popping up left and right. Great story, I loved it!
I do have to say, however, I am somewhat disappointed with the fact that most characters have their first and last name start with the same letter. Makes me feel like not enough effort went into thought process for their names, you know? Similarly, Kuro's last name containing "Kage", as well as Okami having that name is a bit on the nose. Regarding "Buki-buki": is that a wordplay on the main character's default surname "Ibuki"? I know it's a cute/silly nickname Miri gave to his gun, but to someone who speaks Japanese it just sounds like "weapon-weapon" and I don't believe that's something a native would call it, even someone like Miri, unless it does have that double meaning with MC's last name.
If you don't mind me asking, are you Japanese, Mr. Vertigo? Aside from the obvious cultural references, there were several nuances that made me think the developer might be from Nihon. I don't remember most of them, but it was stuff like someone exclaiming "Heee" when surprised and some similarly minor details.
I want to commend you for smooth phone usage with text messages. In some games you press PgUp while in the phone and it goes all the way back to when you clicked on the phone, in others it straight up breaks the game in various ways. In your game it works perfectly fine and that's something I appreciate very much.
Anyway, it may look like most of this post was a complaint with all the name stuff, but I hope you don't take it the wrong way; it's all minor stuff and everything that I didn't critique I have greatly enjoyed. Believe me when I say that Crimson High is one of my favourite AVNs. Thank you for making it!
Mr. Caribdis, you have created a masterpiece! This is the best AVN there is. I love the story, it has everything. A bit too much comedy for me, but you implemented it very well. Different routes/endings are well constructed; playing the secret ending route was depressing(an effect that lasted for a couple of days even after finishing the game), but that's how it's supposed to be. The epilogue for the harem ending was extremely well done.
I love all the characters, those girls are great! However, I also appreciate the fact that a lot of men are present in the game. Some of the other AVNs have literally no male besides the protagonist and I just can't help but think "Come on mate, I can handle a man being on screen. Surely the story would make more sense and be overall better if you included some. You never stated that men were extinct and the main character was the last guy on Earth". Anyway, good job with that.
As for visuals, overall the game is very satisfactory. The only thing I can fault you for is all the texture clipping, but hey - you are one guy, doing the entire game by yourself as a side-job, plus this is your first project, it's completely understandable. Honestly, with how enjoyable Once in a lifetime is, I really don't mind it. There is a great variety of outfits(that fit the circumstances they are worn in), the girls change hairstyles - these are factors that give you points in my book. Animations are great. Angles are well chosen. While I don't usually care for different points of view during sex scenes, as with many other things, you did well in this department.
The level of English is good(especially compared to a lot of other AVNs), however there was still some amount of errors. I'm sure I'll be playing the game in the future again, I could write them down and send you corrections.
Eternum. I will be completely honest with you: I am really not a fan of the "VR game within a game" concept, especially if we are talking about an adult visual novel. It is very unappealing for me. However, I owe it to you and your first game to at least try it. Which I will definitely do, albeit only when the game is finished. Because it is your game, I want full experience of a completed product, so I shall wait until it's done before I play it. By the way, is your name a reference to a certain... individual... from Greek mythology?
This is one of my favourite game games of all time and I don't mean just within the AVNS.
Thank you for creating Once in a lifetime!
I'm glad you decided to go with the normal VN route, I much prefer those to sandboxes. I mean, I personally don't mind the size, as long it's properly downloadable(i.e. not on Mega), could be 100GB for all I care, though that would be problematic for you, obviously, and your mobile users will be screaming. So do what you have to do(except cutting stuff).
In regards to outfit notifications, yes there were for the same ones(I was doing thorough rollbacking to confirm). I remember there were 2 cases, one of them I believe was during Riley and Cassie at your home scene, so there were 3 total lines of text, don't recall the other occurrence.
I forgot to ask; with the full course students arriving in the following week, will they be included in the story?
Lastly, are names for saves something people have been asking for? For me personally it's quite annoying. Just extra unnecessary clicks. I can already see what scene it is so I don't see what the point of naming saves would be. Might be just me though.
A good game.
Shorter than I expected with the size but I guess that's all the sound effects.
I really liked the animations. Ghost hunt was well done. When the ghosthands were first introduced I thought it might be just a sex thing, having a lot of hands all over the girls; which to be honest would have been a disappointment, glad that wasn't the case. So far I've enjoyed the game a lot. I have to ask, with all the outfit unlocks(couple of them had double notifications by the way, might want to check that), are you planning to make this into a sandbox in the future? Also, that scene your PC couldn't handle; I'm just curious, what was so special about it?
Oh, I did like the inclusion of different languages. The Matsuda sisters' conversation in particular, text transformation was very smooth. Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?
Anyway, I look forward to the future of your game, keep up the good work!
Short but well done.
Glad to hear you will be making this into a series. If I'm honest I would have preferred it all to be one game, but I take it this wasn't planned and now it would be awkward with the name and all. I don't mind though.
I assume you don't have enough time for Easter Daye, haha. I am curious about how you are going to continue the project. While this worked well for the first game, I don't think "one girl per game" approach will make sense from here on out story-wise.
Looking forward to what you do next!
P.S.
You gave a shoutout to Lockheart at the end, would you have any links to share?
