Needs less focus on shooting out constant development logs filled with minor info dumps and endless constant tweaking of past chapters few of us will deign to replay, and more focus on new material. From what I recall, I think there were only two semi-substantial updates that actually included new material in like two years maybe? Had forgotten this game even existed till now. If they were major updates, I could understand it. But they were pretty minor. The game has potential but needs more focus on the finish line and less fixation on creative perfection of already released materials riddled with rewrites and do overs. Those can be tweaked on or after the final version in my opinion. Stop questioning every step, and push your project forward. These types of games need major updates every 6 months to hold interest. Had my interest a year ago. Not so much anymore.

Chapter 5 is not fully released yet. Anywhere. The main reason for that, is the creator's health has taken a downturn in recent months. He hasn't been able to sit upright in front of his computer long enough the past months to get work done. He posts these updates on his Patreon page. From what I've read, completion of this game is the very least of his concerns right now. As are your personal grievances.
Just to be clear, there was nothing in my post that shows any resentment for you making as much money as you can making this game. I wish you well and hope you make as much profit as possible. If you need to be strategic to do so, then more power to you. Creativity deserves to be rewarded, and we must all make a living. I myself have purchased this game on itch and I have subbed on your Patreon page in the past as well. Your game is quality and I am happy to support it.
Actually, with respect to shamanio, it's also the smarter financial move to wait and I believe they know that. They stand to make more money in the longer run selling the game in increments on Patreon to subscribers while developing, than they do putting the game for sale in early access (incomplete) on larger platforms simultaneously. I agree with them doing it this way as well, as it shows long term vision and evidences a smarter business acumen. You only alienate and anger those who purchase an early access game on Steam (for example). As often (99% of the time) developers will encourage subscribers on Patreon by releasing chapters in advance there, while those who've made a flat purchase on other platforms for an early access game are forced to wait.
Dude, relax. No where does he state he won't update on Itch. The chapter 5 release on Patreon is still pre alpha. It's an incomplete version of the chapter. It's not 100% completed yet. The dev even addresses that here if you care to look. You can see the completion status of Chapter 5 over on the Patreon page as well. Still a scene and a half needing to be done for Chapter 5 to be considered complete.
Now that the first 4 chapters are listed as "Book One" on Steam; for those of us who've purchased here, will we be getting a chapter 5 update at Itch in the near future? Will there be a "Book Two" (including an additional 4 chapters) only release once it is ready?
I know many would appreciate some feedback as to what the future holds here at Itch for this game. Or even just in general. Are we in for a long haul wait for a "Book Two" release? If so, will it be considered an additional DLC purchase? Will it be on Steam only? Game is really good. I won't complain about supporting it financially for an additional DLC if required (though I would have liked to have been made aware of this before purchasing the first few chapters). Would just like to know where this is heading ...
