Awesome game! This is a great little horror gem. The sound design is top-tier, which is one of (if not the) most important things for a great horror game. Some of the puzzles were tricky, but never felt obtuse. I really liked how solving little "missions" lit up the place little by little, and I started to learn the mall like the back of my hand.

There is a lot to love here, even just from reading the PDF. Brilliant theming. The hell-triangle of dice is a fascinating gameplay idea. And it sounds like the Superego mechanic will make for some incredible storytelling, as the Orpheans become more human.
My favorite little thing is rolling for a Serial ID. Love the idea of a lucky roll making your ID simply 'Z' or '123' or 'f2378v4h8fj23f9823'.

This is super rad, and has such an incredible look and vibe to it. I played one round with speakers, and then grabbed headphones for the next few rounds so I could get the full experience. It's difficult! (and that's a good thing) I'll have to keep coming back and practice more. There is a lot to juggle (I personally keep forgetting to slow enemies) but it all feels like it fits together perfectly. Looking forward to diving back in for some more waves.

Looks like comments might be disabled on the page for your game, but I wanted to swing by and say...
Wow! This is really impressive work, especially for just 2 weeks. You got a *ton* of stuff done in that time! I got a good chuckle when my party member wouldn't let me go in one direction, because they had to inform me there were limits on the free version of RPGMaker :) I see you picked up a full version. I hope you keep up with development! You have a knack for it. Great job!
Hi Emma! I just checked out absolutely valuable. That's very impressive! There's a lot going on in there, I'm impressed how well it works for it being the first videogame you had the chance to work on. Space Haven sounds like a ton of fun as well. I enjoy making board games, but it's difficult enough to find folks to play "real" board games with nowadays, forget about playtesting ;)
Best of luck to you as you strike out on your own. Looking forward to seeing how it goes for you!
...figured one of my biggest set backs was being afraid of being a beginner and starting stuff I didn't think I'd like by the end of it. So I'm focusing more on just doing things, learning as I go, so this jam is perfect!
This is one of the hardest things for me to get over too. I still struggle with it, but I'm working through it as well. Best of luck to you Z-Brooke, and I think you're right that this jam seems like the perfect place to just be a beginner and learn with everyone else!
1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?
Hello! I'm Stevo. You betcha I want to introduce myself! :) Nice to meet everyone.
2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?
Nope, this is the first organized game jam I've participated in. I've noodled around with making games in Clickteam Fusion before years back in high/middle-school, and I want to get back in the saddle and get in the habit of making things again.
3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?
I really enjoy videogames, and I love to try all different kinds to see what's out there. The Legend of Zelda series is one of my favorites though, particularly the 2D ones (...plus Breath of the Wild of course :), and that seemed like an easy enough style game that my teammate and I could make a bite-sized game in 2 weeks.
4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?
Just Clickteam Fusion. I've got a little experience in computer programming, and helped a very tiny bit with a friend who built an RPG engine in Java. I'd love to really get down into the weeds with programming more in-depth games in the future.
5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!
Being happy. I believe being happy is a choice - I like being happy, so I chose to be happy, and that makes me happy. It's not quite as easy as that, but it's a great way to live.
6. What are your goals for this game jam?
My goals are: (1) To practice working on a team, and (2) To get in the habit of making projects again and jamming.
7. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?
The advice that seems to help me the most is just to keep sticking with it, and scale back. Start with the tiniest thing, see if you can make that, and if you end up making that in 1 day, great! Add some more detail/levels/polish/etc. It's so easy for me to overcommit.
8. If you're a returning jammer, what can the admins do to improve your jam experience?
I'm a newbie, but it seems like y'all are doing a great job! Keep it up!
