Nice UX design! Originally, I though it would be pretty hard to operate the ship with constantly changing controls but it turned out to be so fun to figure out controls on the fly and try to kill that one last enemy! It was wise decision to let player appear on the opposite side of the screen (don't remember weather it was a thing in original Space Invaders). This made it possible to continue being efficient even with jumbled and constrained controls.
Nice aesthetics achieved with the help of music, VFX and post-processing! Liked the idea of rotating field that sometimes is out of your conrols. For some reason you decided to break one of the rules of the match 3 genre and now a player can match 3 golden elements just by sliding them together right away after all three appear on the screen. It is no longer requered to match 3 identical elements in a row to have some of other elements change position. I would love if you continued the development and found a way to release a new instalement in the artistic match 3 genre (check out Kenso for inpiration on iOS).
Loved the one-hit-to-kill combat. I really had fun killing numerous skeletons and enemies. VFX are there and that's just great! It adds to the UX feeling of the game. Unfortunatly I didn't how the game idea corresponds to the theme of the jam. But you managed to get a lot of quests done in such a small amount of time. Congrats!
I tried to connect the melting mechanic to the jam's theme. But it turned out to be more narrative-based than gameplay-based. Procedural level generation needs much more tweaking, but most of the time I managed to get across small water parts. It's a shame it didn't happen for you. I will try to look into it! Thanks for the feedback!
