Just the idea made me laugh so much, I like the concept and the characters included. Great work! I also like how flexible the idea is.

I like how evocative this setting is,  the eerie northern outpost offers a lot of possibilities to build on!

I love how evocative the setting is. I was immediately reminded of the magic I felt reading The Golden Compass, without any references. The north is a great place for an underworld story.

I am new to TTRPGs, this is my second and I loved the approachable scale. I'm still in the process of coming up with an idea, I was a little confused by the optional rule to include 3 plot hooks. What extent of detail is expected for that in a short setting?  I had thought that was up to a DM/GM ? What does including it in the setting look like?

I googled and was reading the below link for ideas.

Would love to hear more, thank you!

I'm so glad to hear y'all had an awesome time!! Thank you for sharing, the lost little boots slayed me 😄

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed making it 😄

Love the design here! The yellow makes it real unique. The text is interesting and properly creepy to read, this looks like it would be fun to run around Halloween.

1. How much time did you spend creating your game/games?

A month from brainstorming to execution.

2. Was there anything useful you learned in developing your games.

This was my first game and it was eye-opening to take one to finish. Despite being a one page hack it still took hours to develop. I did very simple illustrations due to the time crunch--I had a kiddo sick with RSV all week so I didn't have as much time as I had expected and wanted to finish anyway.

I was using the jam to talk with my kiddo about game design. I tried to walk them through their own, next year I want to work on them earlier with an obvious timeline of checkpoints so we can both submit something. I feel like one page is very approachable.  My husband made one too!

3. What challenges did you face while making the game/games?

I also learned that in Affinity Publisher every time you compress a PDF that it's not enough to check the master file you also need to check the final because the compression can cause weird. artifacting. I had to save mine pre-rendered in order for it to show the font correctly. Unfortunately I figured this out only after there were a couple of downloads!

4. Finally, feel free to recommend either a game that you really like, is underrated, or has a cool premise/mechanics.

I loved the use of the rondel mechanic in auctoratis plus upgrading the mechs:

I also enjoyed my husband's concept telling the story of people who didn't make it home after a journey. It's bare bones but the game is sound for those that love building backstory:

Beautiful concept! Really made me think about the relationships between characters left behind.

Love the art and the design of the malady wheel! It's very thematic.

This is such a great game, I printed it and my 9yo immediately borrowed it and even brought it to a friend's house. We had an enjoyable time with it. Would definitely purchase a more detailed version!

My name is Michelle Vigeant and I'm an illustrator that loves animals. I usually go by Stormslegacy. I made my first ever game for thus jam about sashimi-stealing kitties.

My 9yo kiddo is interested in games as well so we did game designs all together as a family, this was a great inspiration to try something bite-size and submit it. My husband Coureton submitted one too. It was very inspiring to have a goal! Maybe we can get kiddo to finish one for next year's jam!
