I agree with this.

This game, overall is just fun to play. I'm studying game design and trying to make an MMO and of all the games I have been wanting to steal ideas and game feel from, even excluding the NSFW stuff here, this game gets a lot right. I'm making this because, Eccma, I know you're going to be reading a lot of criticisms and the like.  So I hope you know that your work is appreciated and you're doing a good job.

1. The game feel of moving around the map, the variable movement speed based on weight and injuries is fantastic. Games like dark souls have 1/3 and 2/3 limits which feels artificial, but here, the movement feels spot on.

2. Engagements aren't just about combat. I'm honestly bored of games where every single conflict is a to the death fight. In games like D&D, negotiation, narrative, bribing and getting captured are all options in a story and this game feels like it's doing what it has well and it's going to expand into other options. Defeat doesn't mean death, it means getting robbed or captured. I can't wait to see what will be added to this but this is a great start.

3. The world feel and theme is expressive and immersive. The rules of the game makes sense and NPC's follow that. As an example, in Skyrim you could be thrown in jail but then you just use magic to get out. In a world where magic is common, you'd think that would be an issue to be taken care of. Here, you're rightfully stripped of possessions beaten to be made weaker and have to fight for gains.

4. Stealth and sneaking around is fun in this game. I wish you could tie people up or be tied up and have to try and escape being taken somewhere but it feels satisfying. Stealing can be a lot of fun.

5. The writing is fun and entertaining. All the characters are expressive and stand out. You can read just the text and know who who's talking.

This game feels like someone played enough games and has the artistic and coding skills enough to say, fuck these bad games, then make their own and do it right and well and I love that. It's exactly what I'm trying to do and this game gives me hope to accomplishing that goal.

So, Eccma, thank you. It's appreciated.

Thank you for adding a dedicated mod folder. Still learning how it works, I'm dumb with this kind of stuff.

In short, I've been changing the stealth value for a lot of equipment and clothing. Walking around with a bright lantern increases survival since you can see better, but at the cost of being seen. Same rule with larger weapons like a staff or pitchfork making it harder to hide where as a stick or dagger is easier to be sneaky.

The idea is to make gear and items have a risk reward to them and really lean into stealth mechanics this game has to offer as well as appearing more or less like a threat to change the behavior NPC's have towards you.

Typing with one hand jokes aside I like not using more than I need for games. Here's the layout.

WASD: Movement

E: Accept or Action,

R: Negative or go back

Q: Stealth, fast text progress

Space: Action 1

z, x, c, v, b, n are Actions 2 - 6

1, 2, 3 are Actions 7 - 9

F: Action Page Up

G: Action Page Down

Some requests

If it was an option to use Shift to hold and perform a second action bar I totally would.

It would be nice to just hold the rest button and keep resting up over time, watching the hunger change into stamina.

Masterbate should be an ability with options like moan, piss and whatever used to lure targets to use you and as above, uses up stamina to continue the action.

Surrendering should be a held action, to either lower threat so NPC's instead strip and try to use you or lower their guard to bribe or other options.

Cauldron should go in the Health ability menu.

The AI is quirky and I love it. NPC's look like they are confused and trying to get something done but because it's a fight and they aren't sure of themselves they'll dance around or try to avoid getting hurt. It makes a lot of sense to me. Fighting is dangerous. I like how not only are creatures here not suicidally dumb but also don't act like professional shock troops willing to die a needless death.

The energy management and currency in this game feels like a survival game. Going over and resting for 3 seconds is a risk. Lona isn't a muscle bound Olympic athlete, she's a rather small women that has to deal with a lot of limitations around her. The barter system was strange but really makes you think every time you spend effort in any way to increase your bargaining power to get what you want or need. Sometimes  you have to buy stuff just to hold onto value. Which is fitting for how chaotic and fragile society seems to be.

This game makes you work for every inch and not in a stupid cookie cutter, power creep kind of way, but laterally and creatively. I'm a fan.

You have to make them at the moment, but I don't know where people are uploading any changes

You get it.

Been modding the game a bit and to sum up, all items, hair and armor change various values, one in particular is scoutcraft. The lantern for example basically gives you away but increases the resources you'll find. Not sure what everyone's thoughts are on this but it reminded me of the NSFW image of Zelda in BotW where she opens up a cursed chest that automatically equips a bunch of gear that prevents her from using her mouth, hands and feet effectively and it's extremely loud.

I think it's great tbh.

If you have them in your inventory, there should be a chance during an NPC grab that they use it against the player.

Thanks, I figured out how to modify a lot of the data files, I just don't want to have to make all the changes every time I download a new version.

For reference, I changed the values of various gear that interact with stealth, weak, sexy and such to make gear kind of a risk reward.  I'm still new to coding so it's a mixed bag.

I don't know if you care to know more. Anyway great work. This is fun to play.

So how do I use it? Modify files then place it in there like a new path? If I changed Adv Armor for example, do I drop it in or do I need a full file path?

Yeah I have no idea how to use that...
