I’m glad you think so! It was kinda what I was aiming for. About the mechanics, that does seem to be one of the current common pain points. I still need to figure out how to make a guidance system that points you to the right direction but still allows for that sense of wonder. I admit the shape system does need a lot more work but i ran out of time lol but when I get the chance its definitely on my to-do list. I really appreciate the detailed feedback and thank you for trying out the game!

PSA: The audio options were not fully tested and can lead to very loud sounds. Please do not raise the audio to more than 20%. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I’m glad you liked it! Sorry about the audio options they were very last minute. I’ll post a warning about this. Thank you!

Hey thanks for trying out the game! I intentionally left-out the more detailed explanation of the game mechanics and had the idea to have the player discover it on their own, to fit with the parent to child relationship theme I was going for. However, I can see how in a game-sense leaving little to no guidance is not exactly good game mechanics either and can be pretty frustrating. Thanks for the feedback! Here’s a quick rundown on the intended mechanic:

The left wheel takes the color of the 1st card and the shape of the 2nd card. Think of it as a fusion of the two. The right wheel has a pool of the 8 shapes and 8 colors. Every time you drop a card there, the shape and color of the card you dropped is removed from the pool, essentially narrowing the possible outcomes.
