Thanks for checking our game, Wolf! We are certainly going to continue the work, as we do have a full story to finish here. :) (And yes, UI and character portraits are planned out!)

Whatever you have and what is made with Fungus! Experiments are fine too

Only Unity, as you have to use it for the Fungus tool

Loved every panel of this, great work!

Welcome to our third annual Kobucham, a Jam made to showcase works made with the open source tool Fungus for Unity.

The goal of Fungus is to provide a free, open source tool for creating interactive storytelling games in Unity 3D. Fungus is designed to be easy to learn for beginners to Unity 3D, especially for people with no coding experience. For power users, it provides an intuitive, fast workflow for visual scripting and interactive storytelling. Fungus is being used to create Visual Novels, Point and Click Adventure Games, Childrens Stories, Hidden Object Games, eLearning apps and also some frankly weird stuff which defies classification!

Fungus is for writers, illustrators, animators and game designers, especially visual novel & interactive fiction authors. Many people using Fungus are creating games in Unity for the very first time. It is a popular choice for game jams and game design courses.

We would be happy to have you join and experiment with the Fungus tool in this jam!

Timeframe:

The jam runs from 1st July to 31st July 2023 to give everyone a chance to create a beautiful game. Voting takes place from the 1st August to 5th August 2023.

The theme this year is “Lost in the Wilderness”!

Just collecting some things here that will be useful for people that never used Fungus and need some easy templates to start out. Feel free to comment if you know more.

Hello, I’m currently looking for an artist that would be willing to create a track for a short movie scene (I know, this is mainly for games here, but I don’t know where to look else currently).

My team and I made a movie for our university finals and my last composer sadly left the project due to unrelated reasons. We are willing to pay, but please keep in mind we’re a very small team and have a near-zero budget for this project.

The movie scene is centered around a goddess and a lot of dialogue, for the style we tend to look at “Bubbles - Yosi Horikawa” for inspiration, but we’re open to any ideas you might have!

Feel free to message me for anything, discord is fine (Tanija 3366)

The jam is officially over! Here are the results:

7 entries were submitted between July 1st 2022 at 12:00 AM and July 24th 2022 at 12:00 AM. 13 ratings were given to 6 entries (85.7%) between July 24th 2022 at 12:00 AM and Today at 12:00 AM. The average number of ratings per game was 1.9 and the median was 3.

Winner for the category Enjoyable were the games THE RIVER RUNS THROUGH US (Pt. 1) and June and July. For the category Visuals the game Winter Way WIP took the first place! In the category Story the game THE RIVER RUNS THROUGH US (Pt. 1) won again! And finally, for the Inventive Use Of Fungus the game Winter Way WIP won!

You can find all contestants and their beautiful games here: https://itch.io/jam/unity-fungus-jam-2022/entries

Beautiful style!

Really good! I love the visuals!

@Surplus Deficitus Of course you can! It’s your game. :)

Go on and finish your works! We’ll probably allow late submissions, but it’ll help the score to submit in time.

Love the atmosphere!

Nine days left for it to start, we are all hyped and ready to create stories! :D

Heyho, it’s just over a month now until it starts, so, time to make teams and think about your ideas!

There’s a bunch of participants already, even a whole university class is joining, so, jump right in and get to learn a new tool for your portfolio!

Ahh, that’s reassuring, haha

Thank you for this, I really enjoyed it and it was very interesting to get to know these. I would love a full book like this!

I am halfway through, very in love with the style and the puzzles! The cute story pieces are very nice, too. Just wondering one thing: why is this cat mom so wasteful with the bento pieces? :p

Ohh, thank you! And yes, it’s translucent paper, I tried to make it work as page here, too, haha. Glad it worked out!

Thank you!!

I’ve been in that Gronkh livestream back then and it was so exciting to have you devs there! It’s such a good game and getting softlocked with a dev around to show some things is honestly very interesting

Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed the experience!

Thank you so much!

Yes, it’s paint! And thank you a lot!

I love this with all my heart and I completely feel you.

Fantastic game, incredible aesthetics! Right up my alley. :)

I’m sorry I don’t understand

What’s that about? Is this jam religion-themed?
