I have to say just the title alone is masterful !!
And a fitting and very entertaining story too. Nicely done!

Oh wow!!

"we landed in a mire, the dropships turbines baking the top layer of muck to a flaky crust." is such good imagery! Its little things like that that just grab the reader and pull them in.
Great work !!

Thanks!! And yeah staying in the right tense is my greatest challenge rn... but I'm improving (you do not want to see the first draft xD)

Glad you enjoyed it!
I got stuck writing the dialogue and then just couldn't bring myself to cut any part out. I'm just glad I was able to cut enough off my first draft to stay in the limit! :P

Nicely done !!

The grim ending that is just as hopeful as it is a warning is a very nice finisher.

I really like how the reflection here is done not by them thinking about their past or by an actual literal reflection but by the mirroring of the characters. A perfect little situation with enough hints to the broader picture taking place.

The fact the proud Dark Ranger is unsettled by the fact he does not know how to reassure the poor little normal trooper is pretty adorable.

Thanks for the advice !! Tbh I was really into the whole corrupted machine cult stuff I kind of lost track of remembering to introduce it, as it is a rather unknown faction, Whoops :P

Oh I love it!!

It reads like one of the old fairy tales. A house by the woods, two siblings, witches, and the moral to never enter a house without invitation!

The story really captures the hopelessness I love from the setting. That despite that humans persist. And Lady Alessandra is a perfect character for that :D !!

I love it! A short and sweet first contact with so much left open for the future. Did he survive? Will the caravan reach its destination? Will this lead to an all out war? Nicely done!

Kinda late commenting on this but I've got to add that I played this with my little brother (And while he is into miniatures and has been modeling for nearly a decade now he is not into any kind of tabletop games) and he loved it!

Now him and me are making up own bloodlines, gear, rules, scenarios and everything and having a lot of fun!! :) The game is just perfect for him. Quick, fun, no long rule introduction, no long tedious note taking and you can prolong the game by just going for a reshuffle. Just. 10/10 for a game made in such a short time.

In my opinion this game is a total success! at least it got us two brothers to have a lot of fun and that is a success in my book :P
