GLITCH CHRONICLES

A puzzle platformer where you place the platforms!

Traverse through time as Glitch, a sentient but indifferent, being from the far future. Beginning in Ancient Maya, Glitch will visit other distant lands and eras; each with their own unique aesthetic and challenges.

Numerous and increasingly challenging hazards inhibit your progress, however. You are also limited by how much energy in your overall pool and energy cost of each placed platform or powerup. Each level you complete, and cosmic gem you collect, increases your energy pool and, potentially, unlocks a new tool.

Aww. Thanks! You might be the only person, other than myself, to have played it. :D

Just got a chance to install 1.0 and noticed you can hide them. In general, I view it as a good idea to provide more options so hiding the highlights might be beneficial. Personally, I would design around using the highlights if I choose to hide the grid.

Now that 1.0 is out. I have been working on my list of features that I'd be interested in seeing.

  • get skill ranges working on two or more grids
  • an option to hide the grid(s)
  • able to place a "trap" on an empty square and have it give a desired effect
  • summons
  • switch out a character for another (current iterations struggle with placing the new character)

Something I'd like to see is, when it's working fully, be able to apply skill ranges to weapons.

Hey Marchellus! Would love to have a quick chat and see if you'd be interested in joining our small team. Here's our early itch.io page. Feel free to reach out via email (thegamebrewery @ gmail.com ) or discord Vector#2239.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello! I've been getting the itch to work in a small team to develop a game again. This is meant to be a very casual part time project where you can put in as much time as you want. I have a tech demo I developed years ago and would like to modernize it, expand on the mechanics, and redesign the visuals.

These are not  paid positions. This is a very collaborative project where each team member provides feedback and opinions on each others work. We will work together and guide each other along the way. When the project is finished, we’ll decide as a team how we want to proceed.

The Game

It is a 2D puzzle platformer where the player is given a start point and an end point on a single screen. They also have a collection of different platforms and build out how they wish to traverse the level. Once they are happy with their level creation, they traverse it with their character.

The tech demo was built in Construct 2 five years ago and serves as a rough outline of the core game mechanics.

Programmer

As the programmer you’ll be tasked with building the game in whatever engine you prefer. All experience levels are welcome. Take part in key decision making in other aspects. Test out different gameplay mechanics and help develop the overall feel of the game.

Artist

You’ll be handling the art and animation. The game is a 2D side scrolling platformer and those are the only real constraints you’ll have. All aspects of the things we’ll look at are open for discussion with yourself having the final decision.

Timeline

However long we feel! Could look at the demo and everyone is happy updating it or take an opposite path and use it as a blueprint for something cooler. Take our time and have fun.  How we finish the project will be collaborative and I'm very open t

This can all be condensed into the following:

I have a tech demo from a few years ago that I think has some neat ideas and would like some cool people to hang out with while we casually make it better.

Feel free to send an email with a quick introduction and I’ll send you a link to the tech demo. If you’re interested in continuing on the from there, let me know and we can have a chat.

Thanks and have a great day!

After 5 years of on and off development Agent of Fate has been released!

As the Agent of Fate, it is your job to enter into the world and solve all of its problems. Some might think this to be a burdensome task but Fate knows you are up for it! It's a puzzle game with simplified JRPG combat mechanics aimed at speed. Approach the tasks at your own pace and in any order. Fate’s voice will guide you through the world, provide hints, encouragement, occasionally chastise, and move things along so we can all just go home.

Features:

  • Fully voice-acted
  • Turn-based combat
  • Uniquely terrible art
  • 3-5 hours of gameplay
  • Open world
  • No random encounters
  • Hats
  • XBox 360 controller compatible

Final Warrior Quest

Final Warrior quest is a parody JRPG. Developed entirely in Japan, thus making it a true Japanese Role-Playing Game.  Recognizing the inherent foibles of the genre, Final Warrior Quest has tried to mitigate the annoyances while utilizing a humorous tone.
Features:
  • turn-based RPG combat system
  • 4-7 hours of gameplay
  • original music that fits the style of 80s-90s JRPGs
  • comedic fantasy setting
  • weapon & armor crafting
  • near-meaningless class system
  • random encounter toggle
  • XBox 360 controller compatible
