Shame the servers are offline :(

Hey there, the currently available physical version won't include it as its the original Bubble Frog. Ink Zone is part of Bubble Frog DX which is the updated version of the game for the Steam Release (and Gameboy Color Only) which I'm open to doing a physical release of if I find a publisher who's interested, but nothing is confirmed yet :)

Love the game although it feels like the speed at which you travel deeper is a little tricky to adjust too, but that could be my old man brain struggling to keep up haha. That being said this really feels like a polished game! Good job!

I really enjoyed this, a lot of potential there! I feel like maybe some music in the background could have helped a little as without it the game feel was a bit off, but even that is veeery much down to my personal preference and not really a deal breaker on a fun concept, game, and use of the theme! :)

I'm very tempted to revisit it after my current on going projects :D Hopefully I'll do you proud!

Thanks!

I totally agree, the frustrating thing is I know exactly what I did wrong with the jump and it is as easy as changing a single number to fix it XD alas too late for the Jam now, hopefully it hasn't hurt my ratings too bad!

Ooooh the static'y music is a good idea! :D I'll keep that in mind!

Also thanks for the kind words! <3

Thanks ^_^ Yeah I should have probably made that more obvious as I guess it's one of the key selling points of it haha

Thanks!

Yeah the controls are something I wish I'd tightened up. After developing the game I'd gotten used to them so didn't really realise how unpleasant they'd be for others to play with - the annoying thing is it's very easily fixable >.<

The Z/X thing is part of the web based emulator running the ROM rather than the game its self I believe. I'll take a look at it and see if I can offer an alternative after the Jam is over :)

Haha yeah I wish I'd had more time to make a better ending but was limited to the 48 hours due to other projects. I'm thinking of developing the game (or at least the concept) further in the future and one of the major things I wanna do is give it a real ending! :D

Thanks so much for the feedback! <3

Thanks! Yeah I kinda wish the sound trigger came sooner as I don't think it gets a chance to shine so well being so late into the game!

Thanks! It isn't just replicating GB Graphics, it is actually a GB ROM file :D you can run it on an original Game Boy (or Color)

I'll admit I was coming up with ideas as I built, I think in a version 2 I'd swap the sound and B button fixes so you get sound sooner :)

Awww I hope it feels even better on your Game Boy! :D Glad you liked it!

Thanks so much! :D

Thanks so much! :D

Yeah I really wanted to build the theme into the mechanics more but with the limitations of Game Boy hardware plus the limitations of my skills it felt out of my scope for a short project like this. I'd wanna build it in more if I go back and develop the idea further in the future though! :)

Oh, Coyote Time, I didn't think of that! I'll look into adding that in an update if I can! :D Thanks for the feedback! <3

Just a heads up, you attached the wrong game to your GMTK submission :( your Math Game is submitted not this one.

Thanks!

Yeah if I take this further into a full game in the future I'd like to add stuff like 'the chip that calculates friction is failing!' and you have a way to turn off that momentum :D Haha

Ooooh odd, I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks! :)

Awww thanks so much! <3

Awesome! :D Hope you had fun!

Thanks!!!

Oooh let me know how it goes! I only have an emulation device so I couldn't truly test it on the intended hardware but if the emulation tests I did were right it should work fine! :D

Ooo strange. I'll have to take a look at that. I assume the variable that tracks button presses doesn't reset properly on death. Thanks for the heads up and glad you enjoyed it! :D

Hey! Love the asset. It's perfect for making Gameboy Games! (the Gameboy uses 8x8 tiles and only 4 colors). I've converted the colors of the tile sheet into the Game Boy colors and it looks amazing still :D

Oh wow, that was mind blowing to watch! I thought the "2:12" in the title was a typo or something! The final big jump in the space level was super impressive!

Thanks for running my game :D

Oh damn! This is amazing to watch! :D One of my dreams was to see my game speedran so this has put a big smile on my face! Thanks for taking the time to do an insanely impressive run! :D

Hey there! So sorry for the late reply, I wrote an answer but seems never clicked the "Post Reply" button haha.

I used this awesome reference project file to learn the bits I need https://www.reddit.com/r/gbstudio/comments/ryq0ey/flappy_bird_port_source_code_r... I hope it helps! :D

Also Bubble Frog uses no plugins, it's all done via base engine stuff :)

Aw thanks so much! Oooh I imagine it looks super nice on the Analogue's screen! (I'm a little jealous haha)

Hey, thought you may wanna know even though Steam says Beep's Escape isn't supported on Deck (not just the yellow i but a full blown / in a circle warning) it runs perfectly on there as far as I can tell so far! :D could be worth submitting it for re-assessment!

I'll warn you Secret Level 2 is super underwhelming. It's a silent room XD it's the first prototype level for Bubble Frog, as a result I put it in to honour where it began but made it something no one would realistically find. The Hint though? Hmmm...

"Level 27, on the Right"

I've been threatening Chumbles Bumbles 2 at some point, but high praise from you may be the motivation I need! :D

I believe it's possible, I'll get Mooon to reply to you about it! :D

Thanks for the video coverage! :D I hope you enjoyed the game and the spikes didn't make you too sad! Haha

ありがとうございます!ゲームを楽しんでいただけて嬉しいです。私は日本語が話せませんが、あなたの配信はとても楽しかったです!ゲームを人々に紹介してくれてありがとう <3

Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the game and although I don't speak Japanese, I very much enjoyed your stream! Thanks for showing people my game <3

Hey there! I quickly put together a basic 'how to' video for your plugin :) I'm planning to make a more "professional" one in the future but thought I'd get this out quick as I've seen some friends getting confused. Hope this helps anyone who comes to the comment section confused about the basics!

Ah no problem :) thanks for taking the time to check it out. There'll be a updated paid version (Bubble Frog DX) in the not too distant future so I'll try submitting that for a future sale bundle! :D

Utterly adorable :D A tricky challenge some times too but reminds me a lot of classic Gameboy gaming in the 90s :D Well worth a try and I'm excited for a full release!

A really fun concept, visually strong identity. The music that plays during the gameplay fit perfectly although some sound in the intro would have been nice. Gameplay was fun although could do with some polish (warning indicators for where the road blocks are coming from when you're trying to fight the bikers at the right of the screen for example). Some real potential here though. Feels like with some more dev time this could be a really rewarding game on par with the likes of Jetpack Joyride. Also if it wasn't running on a GBA emulator I'd have never guessed it was running to GBA specs! :D
