Thank you for the feedback! The grind you mention will backfire quickly because difficulty is increased on time, not on stage. Stage changes barely affect the difficulty. Enemy types for example are based on time alone. If someone stayed on Denial for 20 minutes, Anger will feel completely impossible right after. In any case thanks for letting me know you felt this way, I'm working on balancing and will be sure to make this clear in future versions.
Thanks so much for the answer. Indeed the transparency looks a bit weird with this method, but your explanation was really helpful and the nodes are starting to make more sense as I delve deeper. Just editing the interpolation type of the texture changes the end result completely.
I'll experiment with the setup to see if I can find ways to accomplish transparency and post it here if anyone needs it. Thanks for making this tool, it's a joy.
Hi!
Played the demo for a bit and have some thoughts!
- The mechanics are tight and responsive. I always imagine that implementing boat/water vehicles are hard to implement since we're less used to them in real life than say cars/just running around. In this case, I think you did a great job at handling the controls. It reminded me a bit of the sea parts of AC Odyssey, which is the only aspect of that game that I enjoyed.
- Very very good 3D look, rare to see such polish in an indie title. The machine design and colors of the world are really well chosen and fit perfectly with the cartoony vibe.
- UI is very pretty to look at, but I found it a bit hard to navigate. Specially after the first battle when you start adding new pieces to the boat. It reminded me a bit of Borderlands. I imagine it must be hard because there's a lot of info to manage.
- Related to the last point: I love how you can customize and add new pieces on the boat/war machines, not sure how to call them.
You've got a great game here! I would love to play this in multiplayer with friends.
