This looks good! However I'm on Linux and I can't get this to work under wine, I'd kindly request a Linux build after the jam :)

This is an awesome game! The graphics are really nice and the music goes great with it. I enjoyed the gameplay, I'm a fan of wave shooters, so this was perfect for me. Amazing job!

My only personal problem is that the game didn't run well in the browser (I have a bad laptop), please consider providing a downloadable build in the future :'D

This game only works on Windows.

Glad to hear that, and I will do, thank you!

This is a fun and interesting game! I really like the graphics, sound effects and fun gameplay! This gives me a throwback to many previous games like this, and that's great!

Well done on this one!

I really like this game! I had fun trying to beat my time haha, and was quite surprised there near the beginning (won't spoil it). Really nice music and sounds as well! Well done!

ps. I played the WebGL build perfectly fine through Firefox :)

Really nice game! It feels polished and looks nice, the mini-games are really fun as well! Love the code-running one to delete system32 haha. Unique game with an original concept, 5 stars on that front!

ps. Rick and Morty is amazing.

ps. ps. The developer provided a special temporary solution for Mac and Linux users, as well as provided a WebGL build. Thank you.

You, sir/madam, are an absolute legend. Thank you! I'll check it out.

Thank you! And yes, this is a bug I'm aware of. Having set up the tilemap in unity, there was flickering that would occur between all the objects in the tilemap. I couldn't figure out what was wrong as I'd verified everything was set up correctly, I hope this didn't affect your experience too badly!

This is amazing! Incredibly well polished, I'm astonished by the lovely graphics, sound and planning that must have gone into this. The controls feel really snappy, and I love the animations! It's even hard to believe this was made in only 7 days!

My only critique is that when you die, it goes right back to the (beautifully crafted) intro comic scene without any animation or indication that the player died.

Props to the team that made this, incredibly well done!

The mechanics are actually brilliant, I absolutely love them (my favourites are the black hole and gravity flips)! I love the simplistic and fun nature of this (chaotic) game. Controls feel very smooth, and the visual effects let me feel the speed and momentum, which is super cool! Not to mention, the music is incredible and I had my head bopping the whole way through haha. My only criticism, which I've seen mentioned in the comments below, is that the tutorial is long and hard to follow, so it takes a while to get the hang of.

You've done an amazing job, well done! Best of luck for the future.

No worries, I understand, I'm also in the jam. Good luck though!

Well done! The game is a lovely throwback to the old Line Rider games, and the music is fun. I just had fun messing about haha.

How do I get the Linux version?

Thank you for your feedback! Appreciate it.

The gameplay feels fluid and responsive, the music and graphics are really nice. Great game overall, well done!

Fun game! Quite difficult, original idea and definitely chaotic, I liked the talking sounds and the music, definitely suits it. I only wish the colliders for the children were a bit bigger, as I often found myself misclicking.

Thank you! Really appreciate the feedback

We were afraid that it would feel repetitive yeah, we would have added more enemies but there wasn't enough time. Glad you liked the boss fight mechanics! Worked hard on that. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you! Would have liked to add more weapons, but we ran out of time for that. Glad you liked it :)

Really like this one! Lovely graphics and definitely very chaotic. Interesting mechanics as well! Great job.

Fun game with amazing graphics! Incredible job, especially that you've done it alone!

Fun little game with solid gameplay and nice animation, well done!

This game is really aesthetically pleasing! Love the sound design and the gameplay.

This is really fun! Fun and short little game, good job! I like the music, totally doesn't match the destruction - making it perfect.

I like the concept! Very original, I had fun playing.

Really glad you liked it, thank you!

Thank you, really appreciate it :)

Thank you! We worked very hard on that boss battle haha. And that's a great idea! Never thought of that, but surely would have loved to implement it.

Thank you! Yeah honestly we kinda forgot about that and realised too late, would have been cool though had we enough time though.

It can't run on Linux and Mac, in Unity you have to build it for those platforms specifically.

The download is missing the data folder.

I find it a fun and intense little game, well done! I would like to have some sound effects and a little more user feedback (taking and dealing damage).

The boss currently feels like a bullet sponge, it would be cool if it had different attacks and a health bar.

Fun game with potential, if you decide to update it, I'd love to return to it :)

Developer Story

Box Fishing is a personal solo passion project I've worked on for the better part of the last 3 years, around the end of my high school career. With the tremendous support of my friends, I worked hard on this project until its release. I'm excited to share this game with the community, so here it is!

About Box Fishing

This game was inspired by Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy, I thoroughly enjoyed that game, so I decided to take my own simplistic twist on that genre. It features getting a cube up a strange mountain using well-placed jumps. As the game is more fast-paced, I added a timer so that you can make records of how fast you can beat the main mountain. For variety, I added a Night-Mode to the mountain, which is accessible through a cave after beating the game. Later on in development I saw that people were having fun with the game, so I added a level editor so that people could make their own levels and challenge their friends.

You can check this game out for free using the link below.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

Thank you very much for playing!

It didn't start at all unfortunately. It might be got to do with hardware on my end.

This is a solid game with nice graphics. My only problem is that the direction it jumps is not always consistent, as well as the line not pointing correctly. Other than that, it is a fun game and a cool concept. Well done!

It didn't work for me :/

This is a fun rhythm game with a lot of potential. I would like to see more user feedback though. Other than that, it's a great game!
