Hi Sawyer, many thanks again for your video and now for the review! I‘m very glad you liked the game and kept playing.

Yeah, finding the optimal strategy is quite hard, even I am still testing different approaches. Maybe the hardest task is to decide when its time to drop the original plan and to adjust for a new one.

Increasing the speed by game progress was never really an issue for me during designing, since you get under pressure anyway the higher you build. And building high by itself has not be failure in general because it may be part of your strategy to leave out possbile but worthless lines intentionally.

As a reward for managing to complete the game under the final pressure even if the score of the last lines is low I introduced the +25 bonus.

Actually I already did :)

The game is now updated with an extended tutorial

Many thanks for your feedback! A comprehensible tutorial is already on my list, yet I am still looking for the right format.

Hi there,

I would appreciate to get feedback on my latest game Tetrowdice, a game that merges Tetris and Yahtzee.

Youtube-Review by Stadiontouri

Hi, I just uploaded 16 of the up to now 240 stadium models used in the game Hop The Ground.

Check it out on https://torftorf1.itch.io/european-stadium-pack

Hi there, is there any reason why there is no common "Quiz" tag or is it contained in another one I missed?

Thx; yeah, everybody reads Jamal or Jatal, I am already starting to do so myself :D

Many thanks for your efforts for your very helpful review, I really appreciate that!

  • I am already planning a setup menu including adjustment for mouse sensitivity as this was already desired by other players
  • You are right, introduction of game mechanics should be revised.
My original idea was to introduce them by giving the player more of the power-ups than he needs to be able to explore them. Anyway this approach seems to be somehow confusing in the actual state. The best example is level 7 where you got stuck. In fact you only need one single dice, but I gave the player more to let him test red and white elements to explore that white elements move forward in time while red ones move backward. In consequence white elements can only be moved by the player in normal time and red ones in reverse time, while you can jump on them vice versa.
Long story short: you only need one dice – either red or white - to complete the level. But because you have two dice, two footballs and many rewind items, you think you have to somehow combine all of them. I think I will try to clarify this by adding short text explanations or the like, because learning by experience comes to its limit here.
  • The physics and clipping glitches are an issue I had to deal with during the whole development process. The general problem here results from time reversion. I had to die at least one of a few deaths to solve this and I chose that where elements can enter others and the player. Not really satisfactory I know…
  • Passing level 6 without getting the star: you solved it completely as intentioned except that your time reverse clone was out of vision when you got the star. The concept of the element is that you activate the star by hitting the corresponding platform. The activated star can than be either got by you or your clone where only the latter is possible in that specific level because you can not jump high enough to get back yourself.
  • There are no cheat codes included in the game but I just put a playlist containing all level solutions on youtube, so if you want to play the later levels you can use it for backup :)

Really a great fun game!

Many thanks for testing my game, your video and your feedback!
You are right, aiming sometimes is a little bit tricky, maybe I will have to tweak controls a little more.
Yeah, the maze generation of the big planet by now takes quite long, I am already working on improvements of the algorithm.

The diversity of levels you create from the simple basic mechanics is really great!

Thanks a lot for your feedback! That sounds very reasonable - I'll put a controls setup submenu including a slider for mouse rotation speed to my list for updates.

Thank you very much for reviewing my game! Your commented experience is of great value to me as it shows me, that the mechanics and the tutorial levels work in the intended way. From a certain point in development it's just impossible to tell by yourself, if something is too easy or too hard. Btw: I was impressed how quick you managed the reversed controls!

If you get stuck or frustrated later in the game because levels get too confusing or hard feel free to tell me, I'll check then for possible adjustments.

Nice mechanics, it took me a while to understand the controls and to get to check point 2. Are you working on more levels?

I enjoyed playing your game very much.  I especially like the controls and the animation style of the player. Mechanics and elements are introduced and established in a very pleasant and well-paced manner.
I am looking forward to play more levels in future versions!

Hello!

Latal is my first game published on itch.io. It is a 3D third person puzzle game.
To reach all stars in each level you have to remove or overcome both physical and temporal obstacles.
