I use proton 7.0-4. Try using a clean unzipped build. It is still working good for me.

1. Go to desktop mode

2. Open Steam and go to Games -> Add Non-Steam Game to library

3. Browse to the game folder and pick Game.exe

4. Go to the entry in steam and to properties

5. On the compatibility tab check the "force the use of a specific steam play comparability tool" box

After that you can launch it from game mode and it works well. Can also setup banners and images to make it look like a normal steam game

Looks like a clean install fixed it, sorry about that, should have done that in the beginning.

I've been playing on the Steam Deck for a while, however the newest version B.0.7.1.6 crashes on loading, B.0.7.1.5 was fine. I know it is an issue with wine, but I'm not familiar enough with RPGMaker to be able to find the real issue.
