I also felt that there should be at least another mechanic because the game felt kinda stale. When testing me and my friends got different times almost every time but I know what you mean. Once you have the right tactic I think there is a limit on how far you can get. Also, there are modifiers and hidden mechanics but I dont think they make much of a difference.
