Okay.

have you tried running it as administrator? Also you could try running it in windowed mode with alt+enter

Yep! It's just been on hiatus. Trying to figure out where to go next with the project. There's a bunch of extra content that we've put in since the original demo, but we've all gotten busy with other stuff.

One of our big inspirations were the Un-Card sets in MTG, we tried to make them very outlandish in their rules text, but included little bits that might allude to a way to play them. Ultimately the game is about collecting the cards. Thank you for checking our game out!

oh, huh. Lemme look at this. Did you try pressing E or pausing the game at all? Thank you!

It might be similar to what other people have been experiencing, if you leave an interaction, sometimes it can glitch out. It's supposed to lock the character so you can't do it, but sometimes that function breaks. I'll have to look into this. Thank you!

think if you leave an area mid prompt without hitting the interact key, sometimes it’ll cause that. Just a theory. I’ll look into it later today and a patch will be upcoming. Thank you!

Oh wow. I've never seen this one. I'll take a look and try and recreate this and include it with the next bit of bug fixes. Thank you!

Apocryphauna community · Created a new topic Bug Reporting!
(1 edit)

Apocryphauna is, at the time of publishing, one of my more ambitious and technically complex games. There are little bugs here and there. Generally, entering the inventory with ESC will fix most bugs, but if you run into something game breaking that is not fixable with ESC, please respond in this topic with as detailed a description of your bug as you can, screenshots are also appreciated.

We also have ambitions to add more content to the game, so feel free to follow for updates. In addition, when updates/bug fixes are implemented, you can automatically update the game via the itch.io client.

Edit 10/25/2022: Fixed a bunch of stuff. Hopefully this should fix all or the majority of issues that people have been experiencing recently!

Do you have any details that could give me an idea of where this is? Curious to know what happened to get this bug. I haven't seen this before in my testing.

Hi! I think it has to do with the fact that there's a video file in the game. I've been looking into this but overwhelmed with work and other projects. The video in the game is a .mov format, so I'm wondering if maybe you might have issues playing .mov files. A few things you could try are making you've up-to-date with your windows updates and graphics drivers. You could also try making sure the game runs using your GeForce card rather than the Intel one. Also, try running the game as admin. Let me know if any of that helps!

Thank you for giving it a shot, I’ll def see if I can fix it for newer OSX Distros.

That is very bizarre, I know one person had to set permissions on the executable. I'm aware that modern OSX have this new thing with signed programs, so it might be something to do with that.

Wow! This game is gay!

Thank you for trying Bleakstead out. I'm working on a follow up that's more expansive.

I think it’s due to the video that plays on the tv screen. I’ll be looking into a fix for this soon.

Yeah, we will re evaluate the angles for later versions.

Loved it! I'm extremely excited to see what comes next!

Thank you for trying the Apolysis demo! Tank controls are a bit finicky, the reason they're present is because of fixed camera angles. With tank controls, when the camera angle switches, you continue moving in the same direction.

Thank you! We've got a lot of plans for it. There'll be a cool "Eros" section later on.

Hey, I tried it on my windows machine. I didn't end up getting any crashes. Are you using the latest build of Apolysis? Either the standalone or the newest demo disk.

Hi! Sorry you're having an issue with Apolysis. What OS are you running the game on?

These should all be safe to stream. Heed the content warnings in regards to whether the game might be a good fit for your stream or not.

These are not PlayStation games, these are in the style/inspired by the PlayStation. They are for the PC.

HOLY FRICKKKKKKK???

I played this recently, and had a ton of fun with it. It's very well thought out and allows you to play as a fun futuristic trans sky pirate. It was incredibly enjoyable as a transwoman to play as a trans character in this setting. It also provides a cool opportunity for cis identifying folks to roleplay trans characters themselves and explore these themes. I'm looking forward to playing this again with some friends in the near future!

The stairs have been a real bugbear for me. If you hit Q you can set the camera into first person. If you have to restart, from the start screen hit F6 and it'll send you back to that scene.

This means a lot to me. Thank you for playing. <3

This game is absolutely wonderful. Nails the Myst aesthetic while also being endearingly weird.

If you feel like trying to replay, check download the latest version of the game. I fixed the collision issue there

The game is intended to be played in third person, the first person mode is mostly for looking around the scene. This is working how I intended it. Thank you for the feedback! :)

Thank you for trying my game! I'm hoping to come back to it soon and give it a little more polish. The music box is just a neat little thing, does nothing but atmosphere. Room 6 is locked up but you can peek through the planks. The items are def something I want to fix.

Thanks for playing my game! One ending happens if you go through the factory in the "nightmare" world. Through the factory, then blink and you can use the bed to go back to sleep. Leaving will activate the other ending.

Talking to the NPCs will give you an idea of where to go. Start at the guy at the bus stop or talk to the man in the diner. If you have the camera, the pictures on the ground are indicators of the general location, if you hold your camera up, you can see the "spots" to take pictures of. I'm sorry you're having problems with it but, thanks for giving it a shot.

What a wonderfully strange and unsettling experience.
