I've failed to find the house in the woods. Matter of fact, I've failed to find anything and just kept stumbling from tree to tree until I got headache from headbob and quit.

10/10 trees

PROS
Nice visuals, feels polished
CONS:

  1. Behind-the-shoulder camera was somewhat out of place in the starting room. It was good for looking around when exiting rooms though
  2. Had too much trouble navigating back to main entrance, and eventually gave up on that. Those huge glowing red EXIT signs weren't helping, since they led not to the exit at all  🙁

It has nothing to do with the source code licensing

While sources are licensed under GPL-3, the assets are not and the Amensia IP is still a property of Frictional Games

Distributing products based on others people IP is not something you can do on a whim, for a good reason

Good example is OpenMW - community built OSS engine for Morrowind. It requires user to provide own game files, and serves as "just engine"

You buy Morrowind, you download OpenMW, provide path to game files - and voila - game on a new engine.

This project could work like that, I think, if the author changes approach

Yep, that was fun, love the controls. As always, wishing there were more levels to it. Feel like some possibilities were left unexplored, but I guess that whats you get from a jam game.

Maybe next time, add a revolver that you have to manually load bullet by bullet? xD

My pleasure :) I encourage everyone to check it out. It's great.

This game reminds me of Clifford Simak's Desertion - a short story about humanity trying to conquer Jupiter. By altering men's into completely another lifeform - into Lopers. The idea was to shapeshift a human into a new body and keep the mind, and shapeshift back when necessary. But that did not work, at least for the first four men. The story protagonist is the 5th one, and before transformation, he is tasked with one mission - just to come back from Jovian landscapes to prove that it is possible - to go back.

Any chance of adding VR support?

I would love to explore it even with just the most basic controls.

Looks gorgeous!

That's it: getting started links on the Overview page of the gamejam do not work. Fix, please. Some people might really need those
