Ignoring the more obvious things that need work, that I assume you are aware of, I love the concept! Using the size changing mechanic to navigate a puzzle platformer is wonderful fit and has a lot of potential! And the art style on the backgrounds looks incredible! If you polish it up, give it more of a story to explain the size mechanic, and give it either add in more combat or more puzzle mechanics (depending on what you prefer), I think you could have something special.

I think the environment and models is really great!!! I feel as though the concept could maybe be expanded a bit more since, to me, it felt a little cliche? I really enjoyed it and I think you should repurpose those mushroom models into a strange mushroom growing game! All the different shrooms are really awesome.

I love the art and the music but the game was pretty confusing for me to play, I wasn't really sure what to do or how to win or perhaps it was just a bit too difficult? I think the idea is really cute though and the theme definitely fits it!

I love the design and colors and I found the interpretation of the theme to be pretty solid! However, I personally really disliked the game mechanics. I think they're really unique but it felt too, I'm not sure if this is the right word, but too unreliable? It could also be due to a lack of understanding on my part how to use the mechanics but personally I feel like that's what could be improved! Also, the controls are extremely sensitive in my opinion. All in all I think the idea is lovely and the design is extremely polished, it looks truly beautiful!

I both love and hate it! I love it because the interpretation and mechanics are so solid, the idea is definitely there. I hate it simply due to, what I feel, is a bit of a lack of polish? This is of course totally understandable for a game-jam and it is an amazing entry! I really enjoyed the rock paper scissors idea too and I feel like with a little polish on the visual side, you could totally publish this somewhere!!

I really liked the design but the controls, at least for me, felt a bit sensitive or awkward? I think it's mostly because my laptop sucks! I think the potential is there and I feel like if you leaned into giving the car certain abilities or different things it could do depending on size, you could really have something cool!!

Sound effects are satisfying, and level design is arcanic, pretty and well-paced. I enjoyed it for its stillness and a gameplay that is quite relaxing because of the elements earlier mentioned. I would love to see the mystery narrative/story telling developed some more in the designs of each level.

The graphics are charming, with smooth movement. This tower defense is quite addicting and this one had the right amount of challenge because it's not just hands-off building. I would like to see an option for above view camera toggling offered especially for Level three.

Side note, our game is also garden warfare but the critters attacking the well are in a civil war.

Great job :)

I thought this was a very enjoyable game! Like 2048 with an interesting way to interact. Some of the colors were tricky to differentiate, but it didn’t feel too overwhelming.

You're literally reading my mind! Thank you for such a sweet review and that is exactly what I plan to do with the game. I want to publish it on steam early access over the summer while also expanding it. Originally when designing the game we intended for the enemy to use the same card set as you do, however, we didn't have enough time to implement that sort of AI so, for the game jam, the enemy just does consistent damage. Also, there are supposed to be spell cards as well as effects for certain cards (Such as the mantis healing you) however, again, due to time constraints they could not all be implemented even though many of the systems are in place. Just as you said, the moth bard is also supposed to let you draw more cards :)

Anyhow, we were even thinking of printing the cards into an actual TCG in the future! It's amazing how similar we're thinking hah! One other thing is that eventually the game is supposed to be more like a roguelike where you add and subtract cards from your deck and the bosses (and smaller enemies) would be more varied with their own cards! For example, killing an enemy with a certain set of cards would give you access to those cards for the rest of the run! Also things like the ability to add and remove cards from your deck or find relics which might provide modifications for the rest of the run such as more hp, larger hand size, or alternative card effects!

Thank you as well for the compliment on the art!!! I agree that the art is wonderful and I'm soooo proud of the artists and musicians who worked on the project! Without them this project would just be a husk!

Ahaha I'm glad you liked it and you appreciate it's uniqueness!

Thank you!

Thank you for those kind words! It was all a rush and, of course, we wish we could have spent more time polishing but I am so proud of what we were able to do for our first jam!

And yes, the art and music is incredible! I'm so amazed at what our artists did based on just the idea of a bug trading card game!
