No textspeed options (or any options at all).
Textadvance only with Space or mouseclick.
Not return, numreturn or mousewheel.
The settings for textspeed and cursor are backwards.
One sets to the left the other to the right.
Those settings do nothing aswell. Setting text to "instant"
and cursor to "no" and it resets the moment you start the game.
"Initialize settings" should be "reset settings" instead, because
thats what it does.
Did not get any farther. If the options menu is that borked
there is no reason to look at the rest of the game.
No proper maximizing in windowed mode, no textspeed options, no easy or even obvious way to open the menu once ingame, right-click does not open the savegame menu, text advance only with Space or left-click, not with Enter and Num-Enter. H hides the interface but does not bring it back.
What is this supposed to be? An assortment of the worst ways to make a VN?
Atleast is does not have a confirmation for closing the game, that something.
So far this is one of the better corruption Demon games ive tried.
The story manages to be interesting and the erotic scenes are good.
But there are issues with playing the game in some ways.
Many clicks required to do even basic stuff being the most annoying one.
Best example: New day. Bottom right for town, top right for world map,
back to bottom left for the quest areas. That is a huge amount of swerving around with the mouse and it happens every day. And it gets even worse after the Academy fully unlocks.
If we could atleast get hotkeys for quickaccess to Home, City, World Map
and Academy that would be much better.
There are some other minor issues aswell. The red X does not work in the "Girls Screen" if you are on the Details of an undiscovered Woman.
Thats all UI stuff.
I have another issue with unlocks. After i had almost nothing else to do i went to bed in the afternoon to pass time. Suddenly i had the Dream about the Demonic Ritual and was send to the Alchemist which i had been waiting on progress for for ages. "Progress other stories first" is not helpful here.
If that was just coincidence then fine but thats intentional then thats retarded. Noone would just go to sleep randomly while there is still stuff to do.
As a result i was in a Morning-->Sleep loop for days because all of the Academy stuff can only be done early and i had nothing else to do.
Thats terrible pacing.
The programming is a bit more coarse than it needs to be.
If you right click while holding a piece and hovering over another it rotates them both.
If you want to make more of those games try to see if you can make rotating with the mousewheel possible.
Disclaimers are cool and all but yours are way to long and unskipable at the start.
Game has not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 splashscreens before the main menu.
That 4 too many. Stop having these.
Scrolling the "whats new" changelog with the mousewheel does not work.
It moves 1 line per two rotations. The game itself has a similar issue.
I need to jack the wheel multiple times to go from "single room" to "whole dungeon"
The game opened in 1440 despite me having a 1080 monitor.
Turning fullscreen off breaks the window. It does not resize and instead hangs the edge of the screen.
There is only one slider for volume.
"Skip tutorial" does not skip the tutorial. It asks you if you want to skip the tutorial.
1, 2 and 3 allow you to change the speed. Thats a good start for hotkeys.
I cant use wasd with my fingers. Wheres the rebind?
The scrolling speed of the main game is dependent on the zoom level.
Thats awful. And the scrolling is far too slow at a normal distance.
The game does not use "zoom to cursor". Thank you.
The game does not pause from opening the main menu.
Esc opens the main menu but does not close it again.
Esc opens the main menu even if other menus (like research) are open.
It needs to close those first.
The sound design for the idle dungeon is weird.
It sounds like alot is happening when there really isnt.
Especialy it sounds like someone is walking through a cave which made me think an intruder was in multiple times while writing this with the game open in the background.
For a proof of concept this is a good first showing.
However i also feel like the game is trying too hard to be a copy of PvZ. I hope to see some unique aspects in both gameplay and mechanics eventualy.
Right now the sex guy (the purple piranha plant) seems weirdly out of place compared to the more proper look of the other fighters. But maybe thats a direction more towers could take.
For example the Shield bearer (the potato wall equiv)
could instead be a dude with a fullbody chastity belt
and the girls are riping parts of it of instead of hitting him with their club.
I would like to be able to collect coins on mouseover without having to click.
Hotkeys for the towers would be nice as would the ability to skip cutscenes.
Especialy the end-of-chapter scene is far to long for something i cant seem to skip and the new tower introduction is
too longwinded for someone whos played PvZ before.
I also cant help but feel the playing field feels alot smaller than in the original. Im not even sure why.
The bowling minigame is awful. It was shit in the original and its shit here. I would very much like to be able to skip it and maybe consider if its worth keeping at all.
If the game would startup on the main menu (as it should), with the language option directly available
this would be acceptable.
But for some reason the game throws you into a lengthy dialogue before you get access to the options menu.
Even without the automatic switching of language that is an altf4 moment.
