Hi, I believe I addressed this in a reply to your other post. Read the part about scratch codes.

Thanks,

Don't put all your 2FA eggs in one basket!

You can have multiple authenticator apps installed on multiple devices. I use andOTP on droid and KeepassXC on desktop.

To copy your 2FA information open your existing app. There should be an option to show the QR code. If you're on desktop take a photo with your phone. If you're on your phone take a screenshot.

Search for the TOTP settings and look for a Secrets Key field which is the long human readable version of the QR code. Save it to a plaintext file.

Click the drop down button at the top right of this page (next to your profile picture) and go to Account > Settings > Two factor auth > Configure two-factor authentication > View scratch codes and save those to a text file.

I use a free ProtonMail account and email my 2FA info to myself. ProtonMail messages are end-to-end encrypted to other ProtonMail users, and since I'm emailing myself in theory no one can snoop my bits. I email my 2FA keys in a KeepassXC database, which is password protected with strong encryption, so even if the bits do get snooped there's another layer that has to be broken.

You can also print all this out on dead trees store it somewhere safe.

Thanks,
