Hi all! I'm a programmer/developer with a few jams and ~5 years experience looking to give 3D a try for this jam. I'm hoping to keep it simple (low poly, top down, think OverCooked) in order to focus on polish and fun gameplay. If you're interested, feel free to DM me on discord, username is: william_pilliam or drop a note here!
My previous jam submissions can be seen on my itch page: https://williambertrand.itch.io/
HI! I'm a unity developer(5+ years hobby experience) looking for a 3D artist (or team - as it looks like you may have already paired up with JediMatt?) to work on a simple top down style 3D game for this Jam (something cute and simple like OverCooked, but matching whatever theme is announced). I've really only done 2D for jams before, but since this is a longer jam I was hoping to give 3D a try. You can see my games on my itch profile: https://williambertrand.itch.io
This was very impressive for being done in just one weekend! The gameplay is a really cool idea and changing my deck was really cool. I definitely ran into a few bugs though, like somehow when I tried to play a second time it said I was on wave 100 and nothing spawned? It was already pretty fun, but with some bug fixes and polish this could be a really awesome game! Well done!
I thought the simplistic art style worked really well, and was nicely polished. I did find it pretty tough to get any satisfying connections with the mace, but a very interesting and unique mechanic! It might just need some tweaking to really feel smooth (or I might just need some more practice with it haha)
The artwork was really great! And the concept was cool, I really wanted to protect all my lambs from the hazards! I found this to be quite challenging though... perhaps a slower start, where there are only a few hazards to worry about, would help get the player more gradually introduced. But great job on the game!
The visuals and sound effects were really well done. I could have used a little more instructions on the goal/movement of the characters, but once I figured it out it was a lot of fun!
It would also be nice if clicking the Leaderboard button didn't act as a game input (I wasted a tile by trying to open the leaderboard Xd)
