It's a monthly Jams, hopefully you'll join use around late December.

Hey, my game Jam started just recently, perhaps you could try to team up with members there. https://itch.io/jam/no-combat-jam

Hi, sniper, on the Jam discord server, there are players looking for teams too. So if you're interested in teaming up, you could look for members there too.

🚀 The No Combat Jam 🎮

Hello, fellow game devs! 👋

We're thrilled to announce the No Combat Jam —a unique game development challenge that encourages you to think outside the box. Forget about weapons, battles, or violence; instead, create a game that engages players without any combat mechanics!

❔ What’s the No Combat Jam ❔

A game jam is a creative challenge where developers come together to make a game in a short amount of time — and in this jam, we’re dropping combat entirely! Your goal is to design a game that provides tension and excitement without using any combat mechanics. Instead of battles, think about time challenges, strategic decision-making, puzzles, or even creative dialogue!

✨ Jam Details

🗓️ Jam Dates: 29 Nov - 6 Dec
💡 Theme Reveal: At the start of the jam on our Discord server and Jam Page!
👾 Voting Categories: Gameplay, Theme Fit, Innovation, Polish, Story & Atmosphere

🎨 Rules & Guidelines

  • No combat mechanics—but you can still have tension and challenges (think puzzles, traps, races, etc.).
  • Team up or go solo—the choice is yours.
  • Open to all skill levels—beginners & veterans alike.
  • Submit in a browser-friendly format for easy playtesting.

Great concept, and take on the theme.

I had a lot of fun killing those enemies, I didn't really read what we need to do, just hopped in, confused, found some characters without reflections, and just decided to shoot'em. This shows how great it was implemented, I didn't need to know what to do, I just went with the flow, and enjoyed the game.

Hey, thanks for playing the game.

No, it wasn't intentional. There was some error with the browser version, that's why we wrote a highlighted line in description at top, requesting players to download the game instead.

Either way, its great that you liked it. And hopefully, you'll try it again, with the download version, since the music gets better as you progress through the levels.

Thanks alot for playing the game. Yeah, thinking about it, we could work on its escape room features further to enhance the game.

Your suggestion is noted. If you read the final message on the body, let's just assume you gave up your freedom for the greater good 😂

Hey, thanks alot.

Hey, thanks a lot, this means a lot to us. Looking forward to playing your game too.

Hey, thanks for playing, looking forward to playing your game.

To compensate, we've extended the Jam time by another 3 hours

The theme got updated, the one hosting the Jam had some issues with network, and couldn't update in time... Sorry for the delay

Hey the theme got updated, the one hosting the theme had some network issues it seems... Sorry for the delay, we've extended the Jam time as well, by the amount of hours lost.

Hey, no one loses in these Jams, Jams are more about creativity, learning, and letting your imagination run wild with ideas. Even if your concept of game is liked by someone, it's a win for you. So just join in, and enjoy. Also, please join the Discord server if you haven't, you'll find many like-minded people, that could help you out with the Jam.

Hey, we have a channel to team up with others on our server. Please join it, and look for members there, it'd be much easier for you. Click here to join our official discord.

The theme will also be revealed on the Jam Page, Under the rules section.

Nice attempt man. A good read.

Hey, this is one of the best comments we've received this Jam.

Please share any other views you have on our game, things we could have implemented different/better for you to have want to play more.

And the part about difficulty, we've reduced it after all the suggestions, but can't update it now, since it's not allowed to make any changes unless it's a minor bug.

I mean, after I replied I thought about it, and every drawing out there is made up of pixels only...

But yeah, either it's great that you liked the art, even though it felt blurry. Hope you had fun playing...

We didn't add any pixel art in the game though, except for the power-up buttons...

Hey, the means alot to us. We'll do our best to add a tutorial level for first timers, and some other features to the game. It's hard, but I the thrill I felt when completing the levels, After dying for 5-10 times, it was beyond awesome. So I thought we should leave it as it is, and let there be a tutorial to make it easier for the players and get them in shape...

True, it sure is forgiving. Our plan was to add a health system at first, but then we thought it'd be better to not have a health system.

And to reduce the difficulty, we added the unique powers. It's preset in the bottom left, and it's hotkeys are mentioned in the description.

You have 3 chances, choose the grave you want to place, click the hotkey for the power-up, and select the place you wanna place the grave. It creates an instant grave for you.

We couldn't do more than that, cause the concept is, dig their graves, or your own.

Thanks alot for playing, I hope you liked it bro. Hey how many levels did you clear? Any ideas on things we could implement to make it better or things you'd have liked to see in this game?

That's the best comment we could have hoped for, means a lot man...

Thanks alot, that made my day... was over stressed here working on a completely different genre of game right after this game_jam

Thanks man, it's all thanks to @kindally and @jw1ZZy

Sent request mine is @yamimao

Hey, I've just finished my bachelor's in CS, and have been job hunting these days. I just recently started game dev as I had nothing to do, and it seemed fun, I wanted to see if I could try my hands on game jams, and am looking to join a team, would be even better if we're complete beginners since I want to learn, and see how it'll be working in a team. Reply to me if you're okay with teaming up for the jam mentioned by Morgan Dillon earlier.
