Great game! I liked the art for the items, and characters and door and think it would go a long way if the tiles for the ground was made to resemble that hand drawn style a little more! I liked that the password is tied with the items and they also give fun background flavor text. I think the final platforming challenge in the dash level may have been a little too hard, I think my most trouble came from trying to work the wall jump! Overall nice experience and my favorite story of the jam!

Great idea but I couldn't get through the level. The malware attacks before I can find the word 80% of the time, and then I slip and it restarts and is completely regenerated. I think even if it wasn't regenerated it would be difficult but at least more doable that you'll at least know one of the words even if you die over and over. Controls are nice and I like the zoom in feature!

Fantastic puzzle game! Really fun and challenging! Very graphically coherent! Slightly a stretch for the theme, but I don't think it really matters since making a good and fun game is the most important!

Very fun! I can tell a good amount of effort went into this and it shows! the character animations in particular stand out and I like the enemy death animation too! I felt that maybe the jump was slightly too 'heavy' and maybe making it slightly floatier would help it feel nice. The dash wasn't really needed for any challenge, but was pretty fun which is probably more important (the shooting was nice too)! The added story is fun with the little dialogue and tutorial! a lot of fun!

Fun idea and I like the incorporation of the story! I think one thing that could help is slightly faster walking! I felt too slow! I liked the song!

I like the 2.5D graphics! but I think if the character had more colors it would help better define that 3d-ish look for it! The controls were floaty and nice which gives good control which helps in a platformer. The biggest note I would have is that the password at the beginning. I was putting in the right password but it wouldn't work unless I capitalized the 1st letter. Which is fine but maybe should be noted or hinted at! fun little experience over all!

For 6 hours it is pretty good! 2 levels for happy and sad, both fun! I liked the spinning on the numbers and letters

yup! haha

Haha sorry, I was worried they might be too weird but the answers are simple 4 letter words of things you might even see in the levels. The 1st one is something you learn about in "dendrology", and the 2nd is an "aviary" creature!

Yes, sorry! there should be a clue in the room right before the computer room!

Haha sorry, I was worried that clue would be a little too weirdly worded/difficult to figure out. When I tested it out on my family some got it and some didn't.  I will just say, it is an "aviary creature".  And you can put in that clue right away and skip the 1st level. Regardless thank you so much for playing!

Thank you! I think being able unravel my baffling riddles only proves that you are a 10/10 gamer!

Thank you! I wanted to make more but ran out of time for the jam! haha

Yup! if you press space it will restart the room! If you're talking about reverse to the last moment before you threw it, I don't think I'm quite good enough to program that yet haha

Just tried it out! Its leagues better!

very fun game! It'd be a nice quality of life change if when you die it restarts at the beginning of the level rather than from before the cutscene. I enjoyed the challenge!

A great platformer/maze/shooter game! My biggest critique is that the camera is pretty jarring when you flip left or right. Maybe it could be smoothed out a little? Also the jump sound is harsh. The key sound was great though! I like the puzzles and the platforming and the final boss! the art and sound are solid too!

Awesome! sure I'll check your game out

There's a little bit of a learning curve working the backpack screen but once it gets going it's a lot of fun! maybe another song for the backpack screen would be cool!

Updated with playable browser version!

https://itch.io/jam/1-bit-jam-4/rate/3031853

built for windows, so you have to download and extract the zip, but it is a small file.

This is my first jam and I'd appreciate any comments and/or ratings!

Thank you for your time

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback!
