First of all, thank you very much for doing such an extensive review of the game, I really appreciate it!

I disagree with the point that tactical games cannot have real time limits. After all chess is usually played with a time limit. When you set a time limit, it becomes just another resource like life or pieces left alive. I do think that 25 seconds is a short time but I couldn't increase the time without making it relevant enough with the mechanics of the game.

At the beginning of the project I thought about making the time you had left be the APs and not be discounted until you perform an action. I discarded it because I didn't like the idea that in a game about drowning you could take all the time in the world to make a decision.

Regarding the controls, the life and damage the pieces do I totally agree with you it could be much clearer. The music could also be less repetitive.

It's my first time making a tactical game and I ended up a bit burned because I didn't know how to do some things and the solutions I found made it difficult to add new features. But I learned a lot and I hope I can apply it to the next tactical game I make.

And congratulations on winning the jam, I had a lot of fun playing Scuba Squad. You guys deserve it!

I tried to add the cancel action but couldn't get it to work without breaking the game because the code is a mess xD. I'll keep in mind for the next time.

Nice game! The music and visual style is awesome. My only problem is the spin atack. When you use it you have some frames in which you can't make any input. It would be nice if the animation was shorter or if you could cancel those last frames with a jump.

I love grid-based puzzles and I definitely love this game. Perfect execution and great difficulty curve. The turn system is a little buggy but it is not really a problem.

That's weird, in my keyboard I shoot with z and jump with x. However, it is not possible to change the controls. It is one of the limitations of pico8. I'm thinking for next jams to use another engine that is less restrictive.

Nice game! Limited ammo makes that you have to think carefully about which zombie to kill and which to dodge. Also, I like that zombies can walk through rooms, it makes you feel unsafe even if you have cleaned them.

I was trying to interact with all the signs and the mimic sign made my day xD.

Yeah... I tried to balance it so that 75% of the times I played it I could win, but I think I made it too difficult. 

Maybe when the jam is finished I will make some changes to make the game easier, like making the levels slower or making the jetpack more powerful to be able to reposition yourself better.

I knew I had taken the mechanic of jumping on top of enemies from another game but I didn't remember it was Gonner.

Definitely my favorite game of the jam. This game should win. It's super polished.

I loved the second phase, fighting the giant meowkia.

Nice game with great pixel art, music and funny dialogues. I really liked the mini-games that appear when you interact with the objects, they add a lot of life to the game.

Nice game! Controls are a bit weird, it's the first time i play this kind of 2D shooter. But i had a lot of fun playing it! My highscore is wave 8.

Nice game! I really enjoyed the music. Spikes and laser are a bit punishing. I found a bug in this room. If you go in that direction, player disappear and you have to close the game. Also i think a platform is missing at the end of the stair because you fall when you climb.

I really liked the art and music.

The only problem I see are the hitboxes. There are times enemies hit me that shouldn't (for example the bees). Maybe if they were a little smaller it would feel better.

But overall a very nice game!
