Apparently I accidentally left this as a draft 3 weeks ago 😅 Here it is for posterity's sake, haha

Thanks!!

Absolutely did! I spent most of yesterday setting up my game's page to release it that evening, and I had this tab open the whole time, haha. It was very useful!

So excited to announce that my game, Key Gunner, is out! Please check it out! Key Gunner by ZAD-Man

Here's a quick description and a screenshot:

Defeat waves of enemies by typing!

In Key Gunner, you are being attacked by waves and waves of enemies, and the only way to defeat them is by typing the letters floating above their heads!

The stronger the enemy, the more points it is worth. Type the letters in order and you get a bonus. But a typo will lose you points and stop your gun from firing for a short time. Compete for the top score on the high score tables!

I'd love to hear any feedback ^_^

Ah, I see! Thanks for the clarification :)

Thank you for this!!

Question: Has the "banner replaces the title" part changed since this was published? On this very page, I believe I'm seeing both the banner and the title.

Certainly took some inspiration from it, though it plays a bit differently since you control the boxes themselves

This is awesome! https://zad-man.itch.io/one-box-blue-box

Ahh, gotcha, I was focused on the closed doors. Hmm, OK, I'll definitely consider those. :) I might try an "iris" type of a door too... Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks for the feedback! I would definitely be open to a better design for the doors. The only thing is sprites are limited to 5x5 in Puzzlescript, and I need to have enough of that be empty that the player can see what's under the door (hole or ground) and each door be distinguishable from the door next to it...so I settled on this design, but I would certainly accept an improvement!

I'm fact, it does just now occur to me that perhaps coloring the whole door, not just the knob, would help. I'll file that away for a potential future update 🙂

Thanks! Yeah me too, haha. Next time I hope!

Hear, hear! That was definitely something I was bummed to not get around to, as it would have gone a long way towards making it feel like a complete package. Thanks for checking it out! :)

Hey thanks! I figured if I focused on gameplay, I'd at least get to try my idea out. ^_^

Thanks! I'm going to do my best to squeeze in a couple more hours before the GM2 license expires :)

(1 edit)

Thanks! I originally made this for a different jam that overlapped with this one, but since this one runs longer I'm hoping to make some art updates like that! Music and sounds are on my list too :)

Hey thanks! Yeah, next jam I hope I'm able to spend the whole time jamming, so I can work out things like that. :) Thanks for trying it out!

I'll be working on my second or third game ( I know which game, just not for sure which order), so I sure hope it's OK! ;)
