I like where the concept was going. I had to fiddle about a bit before I understood the controls. Lots of trial and error to get the positioning of the JLR buttons right, but a pretty cool concept nonetheless. Nice work!

Suggestions:
I'd recommend changing the buttons to show UP, LEFT and RIGHT arrow icons instead and maybe change the PLAY/STOP buttons to icons too and move them closer so I don't have to constantly shift the mouse up to the top of the screen and back again. So just minor UI tweaks really. =)

Visuals and concept were amazing, love that retro feel. For some reason my brain just can't press a single button for 2 different directions - especially with the speed of the game. I found myself hammering the spacebar to often in an attempt to get out of trouble. So I think if I could press UP and DOWN to the rhythm I'd find this game a little easier to play. Excellent job though. =)

I loved the visuals. Took me a sec to find the instructions for the controls - helps if I read down the page lol (TL;DR = press E button). Would have been cool to see some additional gameplay, vertical movement maybe? =)

Thanks SpicyFrog.

I just ran out of time and was trying to implement too much during the jam, but I'll probably continue to tinker with it. Turning on/off the various tools will eventually create an impact in the environment - some creatures will run away, some creatures might come after you, etc.

I'm still wondering if I should make the player "click" to shoot the laser or keep it as is. I might try it out.

I checked out your game too, it was awesome!

Thanks Esley. I enjoyed your game too. This one isn't really finished. I had plenty of great ideas that I never got  around to as I spent most of the week just learning how to use Godot. It was fun though, I'll probably keep working on it as a little side project. =)
