I'm making an RTS with hex tiles - Kingdoms Of Valor

Hey,

I'm making a bit of a unique RTS using hex tiles where units gain movement points over time so the pace of the game is very tactical in nature since it takes a while to get from A to B. I'm planning to have matchmaking to create the matches and up to 50 players can play in a match (free-for-all mode). There is no single player campaign or anything like that, this is designed to be a competitive game but there might be AI bots to play with or against.

There are 2 resources in the game: gold and gems. Gold is the common resource and gems are more rare and used for research and higher tech units. One unique thing about the game is that you earn gold for each tile under your control and you increase your territory by building towers.

I've made a trailer, it's my first time making one so it's not very good:

Thanks for reading, any feedback is welcome!

Hello! I wanted to say that I like it! Looks like a Fantasy General/Panzer General but in real time! I really like the idea!

Did you consider a modern war context?

Are mountains impassable so they can create chokepoints?

Have you consider making the units move slower so maneuvering can be even trickier?

Do you have more buildings in mind? Like roads or secondary castles?

In any case, looks very promising. Damn!, so much that I should reconsider returning to one of my old prototypes but I started to make it too complicated and I got stuck... So beware with my stupid questions!

Good luck! And keep up the good work!

PS. Are you considering making a creator page here?

Cheers for the comment, yes, mountains, lakes and sea tiles are impassible but there are flying units (right now only a Griffin). I won't add roads but I did consider it, I don't think it would be fun. I'm not sure if buildings in general are really needed but I am thinking about adding a fort in addition to the towers. I'm not thinking about the release / creator page just yet, there is quite a bit more development to do.
