The game has a save file and continues until you fail or delete files. Then it will restart.
In the online version as well?
Probably. I didn't use the online version. The offline version does though.

I had my progress wiped after turning it off, was there something i had to do? I did not delete anything
i saw at the bottom right corner that it says progress saved
Bit late to the party perhaps, but yes, on every occasion so far I was able to continue where I left off after I closed the game / browser. Careful though that you use 'Continue'.
Yes you can still continue the game
Thankfully, they added an update where you can close the game and come back to it later.
