There is a place on the summit that has a bunch of tar in it and a path to the right. How do I get out of the tar since it impedes mobility and it is impossible to jump out again. I assume this is the path forwards, but as it is, I can't seem to figure out how to jump out 

Try not to assume one specific path is the way forward; if a path seems impossible no matter how much you try to get through it, chances are it is impossible, and you need to find another route. Explore around, use any new abilities or upgrades you've found to see if you can find another path forward!

Thanks, I managed to find most everything. I assume the 3rd blank enemy gallery is something Patereons get to experience or something obscure. It was really late last night so I wasn't able to locate the secrets. Everything looks good so far!
