New version not working!

Hey, There is a problem with the new version of jav-it. I used it and it is not able to catalog my videos, it just creates empty folders. I tried the same code with a previous version and it was working fine. Please help!

I don't know if this is related to your issue, but recently I noted that some websites have changed their security policy in order to block applications like this from working. I am working on a solution to defeat them, but in case this is a seperate issue (since you said the older version appears to work), could you kindly provide me with the following?

- What does the output of Jav-it look like? (screenshot / text)

- What does your source files / folders look like? (screenshot)

- What does your output files / folders look like? (screenshot)

In the meantime, I will try to debug on my end and see if I can identify anything. Feel free to read my blog post for a bit more information about what is going on. Hopefully if this is a different problem, I will be able to take care of it quickly!

Hi again,

Not knowing what exactly your issues might be, I took a guess and assumed you encountered the same issues I was having. That is, some requests are being actively blocked since they appear to be automated. I've uploaded a new version of Jav-It which simulates all requests to appear as a browser. Please give that version a try and see if it fixes things! If it does not, please send me the information I requested above and I would be happy to try and debug this with you!

Note: This new version of Jav-It has functionality broken down into categories (For when new features become avaliable). So to run your scan simply type the following:  "jav-it.exe catalog -d <your_video_path>". Note that the only command avaliable right now is "catalog".

Here is the information:
This is the image of the code I used.

And this is the output in the folder :

Also, I tried the new version with the code you provided still the result is the same.

From your output it looks like the video file is being locked by another process. Is the file being shared by torrent software, a video player which has it open, or another process? If your unsure what may be locking it, the easiest thing to do would be to restart your computer and try it again. In addition, maybe check the permissions of the file to ensure it is allowed to be read/write and is not protected.

In the meanwhile, If I get some spare time today I'll try to see if I can reproduce this on Windows 10. I doubt I'll find anything since this indeed looks like something on your end, but I'll double check just to make sure!

I tried all the steps you mentioned, it's still not working. Also, the strange thing is that the previous versions are working fine with this file and folder. I have tried everything, but it's not working.

@tarunlohia29: I am pleased to announce that I belive the problem has been fixed! Apparently you found a very small edge case that only effects Windows and under specific conditions. I have removed the original version and added a v1.3.1 fixed version. Please give the new v1.3.1 version a try and see if it works for you! I also added a new DevBlog post explaining that a new fix has been released and gave you credit for it! Thanks!

It's working now man!! Thank you so much. Keep doing the good work.
