SuperAverage: a short, silly TTRPG about superheroes, with rule of cool built-in

SuperAverage is a superhero-themed, one-page TTRPG. You play as a group of rejected heroes, with powers that most people don't consider "super" enough, who are called upon to save the world when the "proper" heroes can't.

I'm really excited to announce the release of my new game, SuperAverage! This is the first TTRPG I've ever made myself, which I think now makes me an indie developer? What I initially thought was going to be a short game I could rush to release within a week ended up becoming a passion project, which took me about 6 months to get to a state I'm happy with.

Aside from being a game about superheroes with not-very-traditionally-heroic powers, this is also a game about exceeding expectations. For me, that meant deviating from the serious, mathematically-minded gameplay that people who know me have come to expect from me. Instead, I wanted to make something with no numerical character stats, where the rule of cool is a part of the core mechanics instead of an optional extra.

Here's an image showing a portion of the character sheet:

I've also hired a disability consultant to make sure that the game is as accessible as possible. There's an accessible PDF version (with larger text sizes, using OpenDyslexic v2 font), and an editable version so you can customise the layout however you need.

I hope that you'll give it a look, or even get some friends together & try playing it! I'd love to hear what you think! SuperAverage is available now for free at https://dylanjaide.itch.io/superaverage
