why obfuscate the folders?

wouldn't it be more useful to give the folders human readable names?

Not obfuscated, just automatically-generated unique identifiers — done at first for simplicity, to avoid bugs. It's a clean abstraction.

Readable folder names are something I'd still like to do eventually.

why not take the game's name then the garbalygook?

game's name can be updated at any time, so it's not stable either

I just realized that you can easily open the game's folder form the itch app itself,. so this is a non-issue. Thanks.
