A Good Death (Solo RPG)

I just published my first game on itch.io. A Good Death is a solo role-playing game where you are fighting against impossible odds. Survival is not an option--you will fall. The only question is whether you'll end up a legend or your name will be forgotten.

The game combines some light resource management with solo journaling. As you draw event cards, you have to decide whether to accept what happens, escalate the situation, or contest it. These decisions could earn you glory, provide a chance to alter your fate in future events, and possibly result in harm to those you protect. After each event, you record what happened in your journal.

The game ends with your final stand. Your last entry is written from the perspective of historians looking back on the battle and the role you played.

I'm excited and terrified to have this game out in the wild. I've created games my entire life, but this is the first time I've ever shared one beyond a close circle of friends.

Looks pretty cool. I was checking this section out since I'm putting out another project soon but wasn't expecting to find any games to try out, but lo and behold, the very first one I see is yours and I do wish to give it a try! I won't get around to this until tomorrow likely, but I'll certainly leave a review and comment on the game's page for you once I have the chance :)

Overall your game's page looks fairly clean and I was able to figure out what your game was about rather quickly. I especially like your layouts and graphical designs showed off via your screenshots. Don't forget to put a dev log out on your game and tell your story, it's the one thing I didn't see that I know would give you a little boost. Anyway, congrats on taking a risk and putting yourself out there! I hope the experience is a good one for you!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and encouragement. Thanks for the tip re: the dev log.  I hope you enjoy the game.

Best,

TS

No problem :)
