How to run games on linux

Hi,

I downloaded two games and extracted them. There is only a .x86 file (and some data folder). However I can't execute that file by calling it in a CLI or double clicking on it.

How do I run the games on linux?

Thanks

You'll have better luck asking the author of the games directly.

However on the top of my head you could try any of those

  • Try the itch.io app
  • Try running chmod 777 on the x86 file first, then executing it

777 is a bit extreme. Perhaps it’s just the executable flag, in which case you should try chmod +x first.

I'm bad at linux :)

Thanks heaps! Turned out it was just those two games. Others worked :)
