Initial thoughts

Hey KaleSnowtail, here are my initial thoughts on your game. Bear in mind that I just started and haven't even gotten to the school yet. I'll amend this post as I go along to keep it relevant.

1) Please make a FTT Forum thread for this game. That's a great way to make it easier for people to engage with you about your game, as some people don't have an itch.io account. I really recommend that you do this in addition to having your game accessible on here.

Okay, now for some actual comments:

2) Your game is beautiful. Whatever you're doing you're doing it right. Some things are choices that I wouldn't have made (like having a 'field' view for travel between places), but particularly your wallpaper, the furniture of the house, the fences outside, etc. are gorgeous.

3) When you leave the house you added a display name to VX Ace's map. The issue is that the player's name is not showing up when you enter the map. I don't know why but the Display Name: setting doesn't seem to be accepting this command format. I recommend changing to a neutral display name such as "Your Neighborhood" or "Wembley Suburbs".

4) The player is able to access unfinished places such as the lakehouse. Normally this is fine, however once you get there you  can't leave because you can't leave. Sometimes players go long times without saving so as I developer I would recommend either restricting access to these places until they can be implemented or adding some way by which players can leave them.

5) Your walls don't show wallpaper in some places such as by the entrance to the kitchen.I recommend adding your wallpaper here to make it look like this:it's just nicer that way. But if you do change it, then make sure you add the same height of wallpaper here as you have in other parts of the room (in this and most cases that's 2 units).

6) I'm not sure if it's worth it to you to try to fix this, but your driving lanes heading east-west have an odd pixilation:This is caused by an issue with how the tileset is being read by the game. You may want to clean that up in the future, but it's a minor thing. My game has it too for now, because updating is more important to me atm than cleaning up. Just a thing to think about.

7) When I try to leave the house before eating breakfast I get the message "I should go eat some breakfast" and then I move up. However afterwards this line still runs:which I don't think you intended. I can still reenter the house, but you probably don't want me to leave after walking upwards ;)

8) In the future you may not want to send out the game as I .zip file where people like me can get into and access the game files. RPG Maker allows you to save the game as a .exe file for people to be able to play by going to file -> Compress Game Data.

9) You left what appears to be a debugging event laying around. Might want to hide that before launch ;)

10) Some of your transfer player events run on 'action button's. It would be good to change this to be a 'player touch' trigger so that they fit with the rest of the transfer player events.

I wrote what I could, to try and give you what I saw that might be helpful. But don't get me wrong, I really like the game and am stoked for what you can continue to bring to the table.  A lot of your maps and switches are already there so it seems that you already have a lot more framework made up.

Until then,

- Galk

A huge, game-breaking issue: playing as a girl makes the game just not work at all. None of the events respond other than the mother; you can even just walk out of the house and into the black tiles surrounding it.

Haven't had a lot of time to play other than that.

What is that switch in the boy's bedroom? Honestly I am looking forward to your next update because it seems interesting.

The switch activates the bed being wet and the scenes that follow after
