Hello, the simulator has a lot of lag. can you help me? Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-8600 CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.10 GHz 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) Radeon RX 560 Series Windows 10 Pro 21H2

Hello, I think it should run pretty well on that setup. Some of the maps will be more demanding than others. The least demanding are the Desert, Meadow and Racetrack Generator maps.

What you can do to get the best performance is to select a lower graphics quality on the main menu. Another thing that can make a big difference is to run the simulator at lower resolution.

You change the resolution by adding command line parameters to the exe file as described in the user manual. For example:

-screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 800 -screen-height 400

(will run the simulator in a 800x400 window)

yeah.. there seems to be a latency or image lag with slower computers or onboard graphics cards.  i get the best experience on Factory for some reason and the track generated maps even on medium settings. all other maps i have to use lowest setting and still not a very good experience. Especially Parking Garage :( - i'm going to buy or build a new pc soon (sold my gamer) so i can start enjoying these maps and other sims on highest graphic settings.

Yes, one of the most efficient methods to get better performance on slower computers is to lower the resolution using the method mentioned in the post above.

I was able to add the command to Recharged via Steam game properties and it worked.  much better framerates etc. ..but how do i change it in game folder for Freerider v1? when i try, it says .exe may not be stable - then the icon changes (blank) and does not open?  I tried Freerider.exe -screen-width 1100 -screen-height 600 - how should it be typed/changed?

EDIT: - I GOT IT !  It has to be done on the SHORTCUT to the .exe not the .exe file itself.

 - I'm flying MUCH better now on these settings (I knew i was better than this lol).... zero latency (LAG) on "Car Park" etc. I have total control again - No more hitting the ground and ceiling :)  my race times are way faster and i'm freestyling like never before !

- THANKS !!

Glad to hear that you got it working!

Yes, getting a high and stable framerate makes a huge difference when it comes to control.

For others who might want to do the same thing:

For the standalone windows version that is available here on Itch, the best method is to create a shortcut and add the command line parameters to that one.

On Steam, the most convenient way is probably to set game launch options directly in your Steam library, here's how to do that:
