when making a new character from the cheats menu, it seems as though unless you manually put in a name, even if you like whatever random generated name the game gives you, it will change it again after finalizing the new character. will do more testing personally and try to provide screenshots.

The character creation screen has other issues of that nature, like the physical appearance in the character description not matching the settings shown on the toggles.  Maybe it has to do with races having different possible settings for those things, making the previous settings invalid when you switch to a new one.   Whatever the cause, I always flip every single option at least once on a character during generation, even if it started with the value I wanted, and now I will make sure not to use a generated name either (but typing in that same name manually would work fine).
