Hi. I'm stuck after Father Gascoigne. I cannot open the door. I believe I need the Oedon Tomb Key. From what I've read online, it should drop from the boss when you defeat him. Instead, when defeating Gascoigne, I gained two objects: one was a badge, and the other object I can't remeber.

I really have no idea what I should do next. It's a shame because I'm really enjoying the game until now.

Hopefully I can find some help... :/

BBPSX doesn't replicate the full original game. It doesn't end right after Gascoigne, though. Have you tried interacting with the gate?

Yes I have. In two different playthroughs. When I touch the gate for the first time. a cinematic starts, where the game goes to nightfall. However after that, the gate is not open. The prompt is still there, and I can press X how much I want, but the gate stays shut

yeah that's how it works, it restricts you from going into Cathedral Ward since it was cut.

I see. What do I do next then? I already killed the boss on the bridge, and I don't think I can go forward. Should I try to kill the Winter Lantern?

you backtrack, then find an opened door (check the central yharnam lantern) then continue from there.

if you want to kill the winter lantern, bait it to the "objects that can be cut", and make it fall onto her. the location is the opened door, you may get a clue what's the "object that can be cut to make it fall" there, not gonna give spoilers.
