Could not reach R18 frontpage / Could not refresh cookie

Hi,

I'm using the JavIt v1.7.3 and am running on Windows 10 21H2.

I just recently purchased the program and had it extracted to a folder named "JavIt" in my Download folder in D:\ and followed the guide in getting the cookie from R18.com (using Get cookies.txt in Chrome). I moved the generated txt file to the same folder and created a subfolder called named "New".

Then I ran the command D:\Users\Asus\Downloads\JavIt>jav-it download /c r18.com_cookies.txt /i h_101gs01808 /o New

This is the output:

I've checked the other community posts and tried their suggestions, including changing the txt filename and the running command prompt as administrator. I also tried logging out of my R18 account and logging in again to get an updated cookie, going to the library page and extract a cookie, going to the online streaming page and getting the cookie... all of them had the same output.

I'm fairly new at this; how can this problem be resolved?

I've been doing it pretty similar to you, and it's working.

My screen doesn't have any lines saying "Downloading and caching simulation driver..."

Make sure you are *logged into R18* using Chrome.
I use Firefox generally but I think the original steps I read said to use Chrome so I do only for this.  I remember one time I inadvertently went back to using Firefox and it stopped working.
Try renaming your cookie file to simply "cookies.txt" (don't know if that is necessary but I've been doing that).

Also remember periodically you may need to download a fresh cookies file.

I don't know if any of these suggestions will help.

My problem is the download is painfully slow.  Generally about an hour for 1 item.  Longer for larger files.  So I joined Patreon to support the developer to try to get a more current version than v.1.7.3.  So far no luck with that.  I'm waiting for the developer to tell me the password to unlock the newer versions after I download (and also to tell me what version is recommended for better download speed).

Good luck!

I am not very tech-savvy with command prompt, so I do not think I can diagnose the issue well. However, I can give some advice for what helped me go through the process and an example of my own command lines. That being said, I believe your issue actually lies with how you tell command prompt about the output directory. In your case, I think the output directory should read, "/o D:\Users\Asus\Downloads\JAVIt\New". Hope my input helps!

  • I find it better to use fewer subfolders as it gives me less of a chance to screw up the directory placement.
  • I always retrieve a new cookie text file from the "My Library" page of R18 whenever I want to use jav.it download command, and I always keep that page open.
  • Personal Example: C:\Users\narug
    • cd videos
    • cd FOLDER THAT CONTAINS JAV-IT AND COOKIES FILE
    • jav-it.exe download /c NAME OF COOKIES FILE /i CONTENT ID /o C:\Users\narug\Videos
