Payoneer will close Russian accounts after Dec. 16

Dear Itch.io, are there any alternatives for receiving payments to developers from Russia?

I have this question too. How can we send funds to Russian devs?

For buyers, this will not affect in any way if the seller has "Collected by itch.io, paid later" selected in the "Payout mode". All payouts will be held by itch.io

But the seller from Russia will not be able to withdraw this money

it's impossible, paypal stopped service on March and now Payoneer joins the list. There is no longer a way to pay Russians developers in any game store.

thank you all, and what a tragic mess.

Unofficially, itch.io staff is looking into possible alternatives, but integrating a payment platform is a long difficult process even once a legal agreement is reached. So don't hold your breath. Even if this works out, it won't be available any time soon. Sorry for the bad news.

Look also in the direction of UnionPay! They say 2D stores are already starting to implement this payment system (because of Payoneer's departure)

I guess we will just have to hold the developers money for them until we can transfer funds from the US.

The winners of our recent game jam have $1000.00 waiting for them. So, if hosting a cash prize game jam the hosts should probably put a disclaimer in.
