Did you enter the Underdark dungeon and attempt to exit it after? Early on you shouldn't be able to get access to the Underdark dungeon unless you have the Amazon in the party which is after Marie leaves the party.
I am playing as Taramiel and am visiting Mirimiel the pirate in her house and nothing is happening. I spoke with a lady mage that refused to look at the tome. Then I visited Mirimiel in her house and nothing is happening. I click on her and no dialog starts.
