Great game but i wish i had more freedom on character creation.

I know it might had been hard, impossible or too time consuming to think for all the variables, but i really wish that we had access to a character creation setup before beginning even if the rest of the backstory is set in stone, this is the best game in the entire Jam by leagues and it actually feels like a game, but im still feeling that itch (no pun intended) of tabletop player that i want to pick my own character looks and stats even if it's just a simple option of picking between genders and skintones and a few hair choices.
I don't know if that would be possible to implement in a patch down the line but nonetheless like i said i still think is probably the best game and if you guys can produce quality content like this i think that they should hire you to make official releases of cRPG for WOD, something like the Shadowrun Trilogy games which was pretty neat and often underrated.

First of all, thank you for your kind words! It's really inspiring to see people play and enjoy our game.

As for the character creation system, I've got some good news. It is something we fully intend to implement in future updates! Our current idea is to have multiple different backgrounds for the player to choose from (or rather, variations upon a core background needed for the intended story to make sense), with the ability to pick the character's skills, attributes, gender, and even the clan!

Right now, we are content-locked as per the rules of the Vampire Game Jam. After the Game Jam is over, we will continue the development under the Unbound license for the foreseeable future. Behind the scenes, we are still working on the game and intend to release a major content update after the game jam winners are announced (or we have it ready and playable, whichever comes later). It won't contain character customization yet, but it will get the whole story we originally planned for the jam and had to cut due to time constraints.

I'd like to release a dev-diary in a near future, one that talks in detail about the things I mentioned above, our post-jam plans for the game, and some stuff I didn't mention here. Stay tuned, and once again thank you so much for playing our game!

Thank you so much for the quick response! And that gives me a huge relief and also hypes me for the future updates considering that this game seems to have everything i want from a Vampire game, glad to see that this is just not gonna be the end of the game and it's gonna keep getting worked on, i would like to mention a bug i had yesterday while playing the introduction, i did the scene where i call the housekeeper and ended up feeding on him but couldn't retrieve the key anymore after that, on the other hand when i found the corpse on the shower through other means without killing the housekeeper after finding the location i needed to go to find my supposed sire and went through the exit door i got returned to the main menu.

1. When calling a landlord and not searching the body for the key after killing him you can no longer find the key, at least now. Thank you for pointing this out! I'll find some way to fix that.

2. Unfortunately, the apartment scene is the only one that made it into the game jam submission, so when you try to leave the apartment, that's it. Asset-wise, we made 2 other levels that were ready to go, there just wasn't enough time to implement a story for those levels given our internal development issues. In retrospect, we'd have organized our work differently but it was a first game jam for most of our team. Sorry if it is disappointing (it certainly is for us that we managed to get in only so little content), but as I mentioned - we're working hard to release the originally-intended content right after jam.

As for the details of the character creation system: as for now, we are planning to implement three backgrounds, male and female for each of them. You can even find the (current) player character portraits in the project's description... If you look close enough ;) If the time and funds allow us, I would love to add a third option, which is gender neutral/queer, for each of the backgrounds. That, however, means introducing 3 PCs more. As Nossies are going to have a different portraits and models, that means additional 5 to 12 PCs as compared to the original cast of 6. Still, that's a feature we would certainly like to see - if the Patreon campaign allows it.
