...This is not a problem to be fixed, it's intentional.
The transitions between days are 10 seconds at most, between when the pause button disappears at the end of the day and when it reappears at the start of the next day. This is done both to emulate time spent asleep and to make sure there's ample time for variables to be flagged and changed without any errors.
If that's too long to tolerate, I don't know what to tell you.
