Is pixel art allowed and what's the risk of it being self derivative.

I'd like to make a Visual Novel using all 10x10 pixel art characters and my idea for some characters would be similar if not the same to ones I've drawn before (though not the same people, they'd have different names and personalities).
If the artwork of a character is essentially the same as some previously drawn art (such as the guy in my pfp) is that okay, given pixel art's limitations? Or would changing a pixel or two be required to make them technically unique?

As long as you're creating them from scratch (or with publicly available assets)  within the month of March, they count as original assets and you can use them, even if they are similar to ones you've previously made.

Sounds good :)
